“Peaceful and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

This hotel was very convenient being less than 10 minutes walk from Termini Station and with a metro stop just round the corner.I t is away from the busier areas of town. You do need to keep the windows closed and the air conditioning was not working that well in the room we were in. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, hotel was very clean and tidy. Our standard room was large, bathroom small but well equipped. The breakfast offering was excellent with the exception of the coffee ( assume this was standard Best Western issue - certainly not Italian quality ). Doubt we would look elsewhere when we are next in Rome.

we stayed in this hotel for 3 nights last week. The staff cannot do enough for you, they were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and tidy. at night it gets a bit noisy, the walls are thin so we could hear people walking up and down on the stairs, but other than that, it was just perfect! we just walked to the city everyday, it took us about 15-20 minutes. there are lots of coffee shops and nice restaurants around. we loved it!

We chose the Hotel Canada from an array of hotels for a long weekend break and it more than lived up to expectations! Easy access to the hotel, just 5 minutes walk from the Terminii bus and railway stations or about 100 metres from the metro. The staff here were brilliant and couldn't be faulted, polite helpful and courteous at all times, couldn't ask for more. The first room we were given was absolutely gorgeous but was situated on the corner of the hotel and was noisy, this might have been a nuisance at night as we are used to quiet, the manager changed the room to one on the courtyard without any problem, smaller but equally well appointed and with a balcony, bed comfortable, room immaculate, could not fault! The lift works fine, don't know what all the fuss is about on other reviews, quirky but fun and better than lugging up and down the stairs! Bar is great, very reasonable prices and a great array of 'help yourself' snacks, comfy, internet access points, great place to sit and relax after a hard days walking. Plenty of good local restaurants so lack of evening meals in the hotel is no hardship. Breakfasts are good but bacon is a bit greasy and like the eggs, cold having been cooked at around 5 am! minor compaint on an otherwise fantastic stay, totally recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard, quieter if you like your windows open, balcony also

Hotel Canada is a good hotel, especially compared to what Rome has to offer in the same category and price range... Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are nice and clean. Perhaps its location is not ideal–too close to Termini for my taste–, but then again it is within walking distance of most of the city centre. I have nothing to complain about; it offers really good value for a stay in Rome.

This is a nice hotel that is located a couple blocks from the Termini train station and we walked from the station to our hotel with carry on baggage without a problem. The lobby is very nice with marble floors in tones of white and gold. It reminds me of Venice. Our rooms was spacious with a king bed and bathroom with a toilet and bidet. We left before breakfast so I can't comment on that. The hotel itself is a good value for the money.
Two strange things however. The elevator is a little different. It looks like a cage. We couldn't figure out how to open it when we got to our floor so we had to keep riding up and down until someone came to show us how to open the door to get out. Second thing: When we checked in, the front desk clerk told us that he had to keep our passports overnight. I told him that I wouldn't do that. I gave him the passport number and let him see it, but I wouldn't let him keep it. I felt nervous about that. He was a bit abrupt. But other than that, it is a clean pretty hotel.

The hotel was nothing to look at from the outside but never judge a book by its cover. The staff were efficient and pleasant and we loved the old world elevator. Our room was spacious and well attended and the location was perfect for trains and metro. No complaints. They serve wine (you pay) but free appetizers in the lobby in the evening...we were only able to partake two nights of our stay but it was such a welcome unwind at the end of a hectic and long Rome day!
