My mum, Sister & I went for a long weekend, it was mums 70th birthday.
Hotel was very dark and dreary, the room was large, which was fine, as there was the 3 of us. It was very basic. No Tea/Coffee making facilities. No mini bar. A safety deposit box that didnt work. One small window, that over looked the breakfast room. The beds were comfy and clean . .
The bathroom was basic, the shower was not as cleaned as i would have liked, showered almost with eyes closed!
In the morning, if anyone was going early, you heard every little noise, imagine what the cases being banged and rolled about sounded like, as well as high heels!! Rooms could do with soundproofing & a coat of paint.
breakfast was ok, not great, but it done until lunchtime. it was cleared away at 9.30am on the button!!
One thing to beware about is the Taxi drivers, we got a taxi at the train station when we arrived, gave the name of the hotel and agreed a price of E20 -E25 which sounded ok to us, he drove us around for about 10 mins, then dropped us at the hotel. The next night we noticed a building at the end of our street, went to see what is was . . . . . the train station, were we had walked out on our 1st day!!! Not even a 5 min walk from our hotel . . ouch!
we would go back to Rome and stay in the same area, but not same hotel.
