We arrived in at this hotel and I proceeded to speak in Italian to the man at the reception desk. He couldn't find my reservation and asked me for my ID. I showed him my Canadian passport and he says, " Oh Canadian" and begins speaking in English to me. He pulls out a map of Rome and then in the most uninterested voice I've ever heard he shows us where all the sights are, puts the key in front of me and tells me where my room is. All this time he is looking down, not smiling and not looking at me or my wife. After putting the key in front of me he turns away and continues doing things on his computer. My wife and I go to our room and it was like a closet. It was so small that we had to put one of our suitcases in the bathroom as there was no space in the room. The bathroom only had one towel so I went back down and asked (in Italian) if this was a double room as both the room and bed were very small and it only had one towel. He responded (rudely in English) that it was a double room and he'd get me another towel. A few minutes later he knocked on the door and pushed another towel at me and stormed off before I could even say thank you. The room itself was so dirty that I even had to wrap toilet paper around the remote control before I could use it. Oh, and I found two porno magazines in the room. The breakfast was OK but the orange juice looked like raspberry juice and tasted like nothing I've ever tasted before. The breakfast staff were rude and kept yelling at each other. Not a nice way to start your day. Overall not a pleasant experience.

The hotel location is excellent being near to buses, bus station and the crossing of the 2 metro lines. We changed our room after the first night as we (mother and daughter) were given a room which was far too small, with a double bed.
Reception staff were reasonably helpful.
Breakfast was adequate and continental, but staff should have replenished dishes more. Yoghurts and tomatoes would have been a welcome addition to the breakfast menu. Coffee from the hot drinks machine was already sugared, so I never had coffee as I do not take sugar. The hot drinks machine and juice machine were both turned off at 10 on the dot, and we found the 2 women who worked in the dining room were extremely rude, disobliging, surley and unhelpful. One of them actually shouted at us one day saying that we must leave as it was after 10 and they had other work to do! We still had not quite finished our breakfast, and were by no means late in arriving in the dining room. I did notice that if someone was male or Italian the waitresses were "all over them like a rash!" Would they have shouted at an Italian male??
The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Towels were changed every day, and sheets changed more than once during the week.
The bar never seemed to be open.
It would have been nice to have a small outside area to sit in, but I suppose there was nowhere large enough.

I would like to inform and warn of staying in Fiamma hotel Roma,Italy because i was there from 27.12.2008 to 04.01.2009 and it was worst hotel i have ever used!!!!!!!

First of all Fiamma hotel are offering old smelling rooms one of this room i was offered and it was located on ground floor after you entering through door you must go downstairs !!!! because room actually placed below ground level !!! Room was furnished
very worn-out furniture and hard dampness smell was all over the room only one window was showing perfect view on the wall and if you keep it open for changing a air you will receive additional portiona of hard stink.

I expressed my concern to reception and get other room on 3rd floor where currently were going some repair works and this room was such small that i was feeling that i am permanently in car so i have changed this room for room number 109 on first floor here just some problems that i discovered there:


Bad smell
Hot water shortage after 20:00 - 21:00 till morning
Central heating was routinely cut off after 18:00 !!!! till 10:00 ( in winter time )
Some times they did not change towels. So service was awful.

Thus i strongly advise to all tourists not to stay in Fiamma

We got transferred to this hotel after the hotel we had a reservation to had a plumbing problem. From the beginning the staff was overall cold and unhelpful unless it involved them receiving money. On a warm weekend, the air conditioners for the entire building were turned off but we were not told that until after repeated calls to have someone fix ours. When asking for an extra blanket for our daughter, the hotel manager saw irony in our request and proceeded to talk bad about us in Italian with one of her employees while I standing right next to her. Little did she know I speak enough Italian to understand most conversations. If you're looking for a small room with a staff that is too busy to help their customers, you've come to the right place. (FYI, I'm far from having a negative personality)
