We stayed in a triple room for 3 nights in October 2009. Don't be deceived by the small size of the lobby of the hotel. The interior is much better, bigger and and more attractive than the outside.
Location - The location is excellent, within 10-minute walk to Termini Train Station. We hauled our luggage without taking any taxi or bus. The Hotel is situated in a neighborhood with 2 foreign embassies nearby: German and Turkey. There is an armor car 24 x 7 with 3 soldiers carrying machine guns to protect the embassies. So, we felt very safe walking by and to the hotel at night time.
Convenience - There are two grocery stores nearby. One is the larger Conad Supermarket (just about 5 minute walk) and the other one is smaller but is at the corner of the street. You can buy bottled water and fresh fruits from Conad. We bought some delicious apples at 0.98 Euro per kilogram, which is equivalent to 2.2 lbs for US $1.50. So, it's a good bargain.
Comfort - the hotel was renovated in Dec. 2008. So, the furniture and interior decoration are very comtemporary. The room has 3 single beds in it and there is still plenty of room to move around. There is a lot of recessed lights which make the room bright for reading. The beds are very comfortable. The room has a mini size refrigerator.
Value - Breakfast was included in the price. It has ham and cheese, boiled brown egg, yogurt, cereal, pastries, hot chocolate and brewed coffee. The breakfast is superb, it's not packaged or canned food.
Service - The evening shift receptionists (especially the one whose name is Florin) working from 4:00 pm till late at night are all very helpful and friendly. The one working during the day is not as helpful as other ones. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 am. He wouldn't allow us to check in early. So, we went out for lunch and came back at 1:00 pm. He made us sit at the lobby till 1:30 pm to check us in. Moreover, he didn't like to have too many questions asked. We just felt that the receptionist could have been more flexible and friendlier.
Con - At the time of our stay, the hotel didn't have any internet access even though it has posted on its web site with "free internet point". The receptionist told us that internet access will be available in a few weeks. We felt that we were misled by their advertisement on their web site.
Tip - get enough Euro exchanged before arriving Italy. All currency exchange shops in Italy incur 4.9 Euro fixed service fee in addition to a variable rate up to 19%. We exchanged US $100 but only got back 50 Euro, that is US $2 for 1 Euro. The exchange rate at that time was about US$1.5 for 1 Euro We didn't see those small prints for the outrageous fees until we received the smaller amount of Euro than we had expected. We felt that we were reapped off.
