Just got back from our stay at the Genio and was delighted with the hotel. Location is super, 3 mins walk to the piazza navona and easy walking to the trevi and the pantheon. The staff were great and couldn't do enough to help you find your way across the city. The rooms were tastefully decorated and well furnished. The Roof terrace was clean and tidy with plenty of seats and tables for your morning breakfast ( 3 euro for breakfast on the roof ). The Breakfast room was a good size, flooded with light and the food was very acceptable. I would definitely recommend the genio and would stay there again myself.

We had the same experience as "GLADIATOR 163". I made reservations on 30 May '07 for 5 nights 28 Sept- 3 Oct. When we arrived, they were overbooked and my copy of the confirmed e-mail meant nothing. We considered it a definate "bait & switch". They did have room at another of their Leonardi chain hotel, and sent us over there. After 2 nights they got us back into the Genio for the final 3 nights. I chose the Genio based on the location, so I was very unhappy about the Bait & Switch technique! The location is definately great, the hotel is OK but only average, decent breakfast, reasonable service, friendly staff. All-in-all, it's an OK hotel in a very good location.

We stayed at the Hotel Genio for 3 nights. We had initially booked another hotel, but switched to the Genio because of its location near the Piazza Navona. The location was ideal and we walked to all the sites and attractions. The hotel itself was a little tired looking and our room smelled quite musty. It may have been related to a flooding problem from the shower! To their credit, the hotel repaired the shower problem after our first complaint, but the musty odor remained. The front desk staff were quite helpful, although one fellow was rather sullen, so we would wait to ask our questions until someone else came on duty! If you stay, try to get a room that doesn't face the noisy street. Ours did, and the noise and commotion went all night long. Hotel photos show some sort of rooftop garden, but when we were there breakfast was served in a windowless room on the main floor, so I am not sure what the story was there. This was the most expensive hotel of our 2 week trip to Italy and the one we liked the least.

We reviewed this hotel through trip advisor and found many varying results. Its not the cheapest place to stay but what a fabulous location.
The rooms were clean and spacious, bedding and towels were changed frequently during our 4 night stay as well as the complimentary toiletries.
The breakfast was as expected, continental, with cheese, meat, eggs, cereal, bread, tea and great coffee.
The staff were courtious and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The roof terrace was a bit of a let down,only because the furniture was old and needed a good clean, but the surrounding views were magnificent during the day or night.
Step out of the front door turn left and over the bridge is the Vatican City (about a 15 minute walk away). Turn right and your into one of the most beautiful Piazza's in Rome. Rome is a walkers city so be prepared to walk. Take advantage of the hop-on hop-off bus tours to save time. I would recommend this hotel.
