The Hotel Majestic Roma is located on Via Veneto, a reasonable walk to both the Borghese Gallery and the Barberini metro stop. The food establishments that line the Via Veneto are geared towards tourists, so you may want to walk south to find a delicious and well-priced meal.

The exterior of the hotel as well as the decor inside connotes a grandeur of time gone by. You definitely feel like you have stepped back a century or two by the look of the sweeping staircase, rods that hold the rugs in place on each step and oversized window treatments that pool on the floor. This hotel also follows the old-fashioned practice of having you drop off and pick up your keys every time you enter and leave the hotel. (I was always curious how these places validate that you are, in fact, who you say you are.)

The staff was always civil and pleasant, but our room's furnishings were pretty bizarre. The entire room was a blinding white, except for the blood red curtains. They kept out the light really well in the mornings though. The room was a decent size and we were greeted with a plate of fresh fruit, which was quite welcome.

There was a lovely breakfast on the patio included in our reservation. It had the usual coffee, pastries, eggs, bacon, yogurt, juices, etc. I think there are two types of breakfasts you can book, either the continental version or the heartier one.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay at the Hotel Majestic Roma, but nothing that knocked your socks off

I'm staying each year approx. 150 - 200 nights in 5 star hotels but I've to say that Hotel Majestic for sure is one of the best European Hotels I've staid in.

The location is just perfect, 5 min. to the Spanish Stairs, 20 min. to nearly each other sightseeing location. We staid at the 2nd floor to Via Veneto and we didn't have any problems with street noice as stated in earlier reviews.

The hotel is a typical European Grand Hotel. But while others use this odd like-antique baroque furniture the Majestic used modern, white-gloss furniture - in a way "antique" but modern. The bathrrom is of very good size and fitted in white marble (but can't be locked). Something very rare has been that there was enough space for my wife and me to store all our clothes without putting them on sideboards, chairs etc.

The breakfast has been one of the "High" of the Majestic. You're siiting on a beautiful terrace overlooking Via Veneto. There're many trees and it's just fantastic to be out there. For Italy the breakfast is very good and offers eggs, ham, selected cheese and sausages as well as sweets (cake), cornflakes, juices, jam etc. Maybe it's not a "full American breakfast" but when you know what you get at other 5 star hotels in Italy... The only negative thing I can say about the hotel was the missing pepper mill at the table.

The front staff and concierge had been very friendly and extremely helpfull with sightseeing tips, restaurant advices etc.

I've to say that Hotel Majestic had been a home away from home. For sure we'll come back!

Hotel Majestic Roma is a good hotel in a pretty good location. I would rate the hotel 4 stars.

Pros
- some of the front staff/concierges are very helpful and polite
- nice and quiet rooms (at least the one I had)
- excellent house keeping
- good location (I loved jogging in the mornings in the Villa Borghese)
- free wlan

Cons
- poor breakfast (although after having excellent dinners who has room for breakfast!!)
- poor gym
- some of the staff weren't that accommodating
- horrible shower (it was virtually impossibe to adjust proper temperature, it was either hot or cold)

Overall I would say good value for money but still Hotel Eden is my favourite in Rome.

We read other Tripadvisor reviews and so realised early that in this hotel it was important to stay in the upper (3rd or 4th) floors to escape street noise -- make sure you do this! Via Vittorio can be busy and lost sleep is a lost holiday for some. The hotel itself is well located and in 20 minutes you can walk to most of the key attractions of central Rome. While the service level was acceptable it was nothing spectacular. For example there was no cooling (even April can be warm and stuffy) in the room and when the engineer came up to the room he told us in broken English -- air conditioner not working... Only later were we informed by reception that in Italy by law (apparently) no hotels can have airconditioning until May 15th -- very odd indeed, but who knows, it could be true! The bathroom was pretty, with a good amount of space and white marble everywhere. The terrible Achilles Heel of the hotel is its breakfast -- disastrous. Watery cold scrambled eggs EVERYDAY in a dark bar/restaurant in the basement -- not the best way to start a day! Photographs and autographs on the walls claim that starts like Whitney Houston and Bill Gates have stayed -- you gotta wonder. Overall a pleasant experience minus the breakfast.

I've stayed in lots of 5* hotels but this is something special. It's not big, brash, flashy; rather, it's elegant, very comfortable, the service is fantastic (no, really fantastic) and I would really recommend it. Great location on Via Veneto and the rooms are really comfortable and with a real air of calm. The restaurant for dinner was lovely but breakfast was only ok (cold scrambled eggs!). The bar was lovely. I'd highly recommend it.
