We read other Tripadvisor reviews and so realised early that in this hotel it was important to stay in the upper (3rd or 4th) floors to escape street noise -- make sure you do this! Via Vittorio can be busy and lost sleep is a lost holiday for some. The hotel itself is well located and in 20 minutes you can walk to most of the key attractions of central Rome. While the service level was acceptable it was nothing spectacular. For example there was no cooling (even April can be warm and stuffy) in the room and when the engineer came up to the room he told us in broken English -- air conditioner not working... Only later were we informed by reception that in Italy by law (apparently) no hotels can have airconditioning until May 15th -- very odd indeed, but who knows, it could be true! The bathroom was pretty, with a good amount of space and white marble everywhere. The terrible Achilles Heel of the hotel is its breakfast -- disastrous. Watery cold scrambled eggs EVERYDAY in a dark bar/restaurant in the basement -- not the best way to start a day! Photographs and autographs on the walls claim that starts like Whitney Houston and Bill Gates have stayed -- you gotta wonder. Overall a pleasant experience minus the breakfast.
