We stayed at the Art Deco for four days, and we would have been happy to stay for much longer. It's very clean, the room was a good size, and the staff looked after us very well. I liked the way that room was tidied twice a day, and we had chocolates left in the room every afternoon.
The hotel is in a great location, close to the Termini and with easy access to anywhere in the city that you want to go. Breakfast was good, we ate dinner there twice, and were not disappointed at all.
When we go back to Rome we will stay at the Art Deco again.

Can't believe the last review stating that it was in a poor location!!! 5 mins maximum walk from the termini, turn left out of the hotel then left at the top of the road and 15-20mins pleasant stroll later you are in Republicca, walk through termini and out the other side, 5 mins later you are at the one of the most beautiful churches you will ever see. Five minutes on the underground from termini and you can either be at the Colisseum or the Vatican........you get my drift?

Hotel room itself was basic but I didn't go to Rome to sit in my room, breakfast was standard fare, front desk staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful, the guy that was on shift when we arrived took the time to point out the important areas on a free street guide. We asked for a decent local restaurant and were directed round the corner to a little place called "La Famiglia"(sp), which was so good we didn't eat anywhere else during our stay, but drink the house wine rather than the more expensive bottles as it is really quite good.

Sex cinema and strip club round the corner but no trouble or undesirables hanging around which could have been to do with the soldiers on the street corners (some embassies in the area) or the close by police station.

Basically an upmarket basic hotel which probably isn't four star but for location and friendliness of staff is just what you need if you are going to be out and about sightseeing as we were.

Stayed there for 5 nights in September. It's not the best located hotel in Rome, but the price was right for me at the time.

We booked a king size bed room, and while the room was ok and large, the area where the bed was was quite small. Breakfast was ok, but had to be there early otherwise you wouldnt get pastries! The hot chocolate was very good tho.

I think what i didnt like was the location. After walking for hoooours i really dreaded having to walk all the way from the termini to the hotel. my feet usually complained.

Staff speak excellent English and are courteous and professional. The room was relatively small for two people (twin room) but clean, and I was disappointed that for a 4-star hotel room service didn't offer food in the evening (except coffee) and there was no tea/ coffee or ironing facilities either, and the on-demand TV/film services didn't work at all during our 3-day stay.
The hotel's about 10 mins walk from Termini station but not central to attractions, but a little walking never killed anyone, though literally around the corner was an adult cinema and a strip bar(!) but we never encountered any "undesirables" in the area, and there's an excellent homely family run restaurant a couple of minutes away.
All taken into consideration, I was a little disappointed with the stay there (for the price, and because it was touted as a 4-star hotel).
There's nothing inherently wrong with the place and addressing the points I mentioned and dropping it to 3 star and knocking 35 euros off per night would be more appropriate in my view.
I'd recommend the hotel, but with above reservations.

Not knowing Rome very well, we were a little wary of this neighborhood until we got there. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it's bustling during the day, quiet at night, with enough restaurants nearby to keep you happy, and some of Rome's finest museums within walking distance. The hotel keeps to the artdeco theme throughout, but with a decidedly modern touch - rooms lack no convenience, breakfast area is light and welcoming (with a good assortment f choices). The staff was a bit cool, but helpful when needed and certainly able to handle basic requests with ease. The restaurant is better than average and seems to draw a fare number of locals for lunch (always a good sign). If you're staying at the ArtDeco or just in the neighborhood, have dinner at La Famiglia (just a few blocks away) - fabulous antipasti table, friendly service, and marvelous pastas!
