We spent one night in this gem of a hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the location. It is in walking distance of the major sites, especially the Pantheon. We really enjoyed walking the neighborhoods and soaking up the flavor of Rome. This was our second time in Rome so we had already done the major sites. My husband thought the hotel layout was like a labaryinth. He hated having to figure out where the room was. I on the other hand liked that - the quaintness of it all. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was large and clean but antiquated. If we were staying in Rome for an extended period of time, I am not sure I would have stayed here simply because of the outdated bathroom. There were nice touches in terms of their toiletries. There is a great rooftoop bar, newly renovated. It is beautiful and you can see the Roman rooftops. Breakfast was great - the hotel put together bags for us since we had an early flight. It was exceptional. The check in staff was not very friendly - that perhaps was our biggest disappointment. Although I loved the location, I did not get that warm fuzzy feeling that I usually get with small quaint hotels. We paid Euros 136 for the night which we thought was a steal!

We stayed at the Cesari for 2 nights in October before boarding Oceania's Regatta. The hotel has an excellent location midway between the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Superior rooms have great updated bathrooms, small but sufficient sleeping quarters. The staff was very helpful getting us restaurant reservations and calling taxis for us to outlying areas. There was a computer in the lobby to use free of charge and the buffet breakfast on the rooftop was wonderful. This area converted to a great place for drinks in the early evening. There are shops and outdoor restaurants right outside the hotel's doorstep and the Colosseum is within walking distance. So glad we stayed there!

My husband and I stayed at Albergo Cesari for four nights during October. We paid 136 euros ($200 USD) per night for a double room with private bath. The location could not have been better; it is on Via di Pietra directly between the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. There are several good restaurants along the same block. Although the hotel is situated on a busy pedestrian street, with many tourists and vibrant night life, the street noise was not bothersome.

The rooftop terrace is amazing. We enjoyed our breakfast there every morning, and the weather was perfect in the evenings for having a late night drink up there as well. Our only complaint about the hotel was the very hard bed (actually two single beds pushed together). By the end of our stay, we were both experiencing back pain and not sleeping well. But on the whole, we had a wonderful stay there.

Breakfast was included, and we were able to check email on a computer located in the lobby. Wi-Fi was available for a fee. We also used the airport pick-up service provided by the hotel, which cost 55 euros for up to three persons and saved the hassle of moving our luggage by train. Our driver was very knowledgeable about Rome’s history, and he gave us a mini tour as we rode from the airport to the hotel.

great location - right in between the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. we got a corner room which had views over Piazza di Pietra, and was really spacious and felt quite luxurious - especially for the price in this location. The room also had bathrobes and slippers which is always a nice addition. Breakfast was good and although it was raining so we didn't use it the roof terrace was lovely. We only stayed for one night but will stay again next time we're in Rome.

I've been to Rome six times and never as happy with the hotel as I was this one! Whenever I go back, this will be my first choice. I loved it so much, I hesitated writing this review because I'm afraid I'll never be able to book it again! Everything about it was perfect! The room was large, with a high ceiling, refrigerator and air conditioning that worked very well. The bathroom was spacious and spotless. The breakfast was the most elaborate I've had in Rome with meats, cheeses, pastries, cereal and fresh fruit. The rooftop view was spectacular and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The location is to die for! I'm 58, and not in the best shape and could walk everywhere! You are about 2/10ths of a mile in one direction to the Pantheon and same distance in the other direction to the Trevi Fountain. The street right at the corner is a major bus stop so if you did need a bus, they were very accessable. I was able to walk to St Peters and the Forum. From the corner, you look right down the street and see the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier. You walk out the door of the hotel and you are on a pedestrian only street with all kinds of shops and restaurants. One night when I walked out, there was a man playing the accordian in the street right outside the hotel. There is nowhere in Rome I would rather stay!
