Perfect location to view Rome by foot. Staff were amazingly hospitable and friendly and even helped my husband with his rusty Italian. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when we return to Rome. The rooftop bar is spectacular and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate and a fresh change from the usual fry ups. Loved everything about it.

Booked a superior room for five nights in the second half of May - and was pleasantly surprised when I got there. Frankly, my expectations weren't that great; the location was smack in the centre, and I thought the room was going to be one of those claustrophobic shoe boxes. Wrong!

The room, though not cheap at ~130 euros/night, was quite spacious with a small living room, a separate bedroom, and a spacious bathroom (the bathroom included little niceties such as shaving cream, cotton swabs, etc. that are not that common in "three-star" European hotels, at least in my experience). Service was impeccable at all times, polite and friendly, whether at the front desk or the breakfast room. The breakfast was on a rooftop terrace, which was a delight in itself in the sunny Roman mornings.

Finally - and I can't stress this enough - the location was ideal in the best sense of the word. Even among central locations, this is really central. The Colosseum is a twenty-minute walk, the Vatican about twenty-five. The Pantheon is a few steps away; Piazza Navona is nearby as well. The Spanish Steps are twenty minutes away. Even the Villa Borghese can be reached within thirty minutes of walking. I never had to use public transportation during my stay there.

The hotel is approximately a 15-20 - minute taxi ride from the Termini Station, depending on traffic.

Overall impression: I can't think of any complaints - none - and highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is so central you could not be better placed. It is only five mins from Trevi fountain. The restuarants outside the hotel are good value too. The breakfast room is located on the roof which is fantastic. The quality of the breakfast was fantastic, Kellogs cereals in sealed boxes - none of this dip into a bowl!
The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for us, the rooms were spacious and clean.
We would not stay anywhere else in Rome and would recommend it to all.

My husband and I stayed at the Albergo Cesari during our short stay in Rome. We just finished a 10 day cruise and wanted to stay in Rome for a couple of days. We wanted a hotel that was walking distance to most of the famous sites in Rome and we got just that. It was perfect. Great hotel choice for a short stay.

The hotel staff was pleasant enough but I wouldn't rate them as friendly. They did speak English well and they do provide maps for your stay in Rome which was helpful. The hotel is located on a lovely side street across from a couple of cafe`s, vendors and souvenir stores. The cab will let you off just a few steps away from the hotel. The street that the hotel is situated is for pedestrians only. Depending on what room you get, it can be noisy at night.

The only thing that bothered us was that they do ask to see your passport when you arrive. They will enter what information they need from your passport into their data base and give it right back to you. When we questioned them, they stated that it was a law in Rome to show your passport on arrival at any hotel. We also stayed at the Crowne Plaza for one night before our cruise started and they did not ask for our passports. So, not sure why only some hotels request for this information.

We enjoyed our buffet breakfast at the roof top terrace. It was a lovely view while enjoying our cappuccino. The buffet was a nice mix of fruit, pound cake, apple strudel, croissants and cornflakes.....nothing fancy. No bread.....you have to ask for bread which I thought was unusual. The selection they had was more than enough to start your day. Breakfast starts at 7am.
