“Beautiful rooms, brilliant location, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

As others have said, you can't beat the location. It's within walking distance of most of the major sites. It's so nice to walk out of the hotel and within seconds be walking down very pretty streets and minutes away from the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain.

The rooms are also beautiful. I had a superior single (room 44) and although initially disappointed at having a single bed (yes, I know the clue is in the title ...) I was very happy after my first, very comfortable night's sleep. The room was very spacious, individual and slightly quirky. I stayed for three nights and could easily have stayed for much longer. It's not super modern (not a modern bathroom and no flat screen TV), but the charm of the room more than made up for this.

The breakfast on the roof terrace was nice, but in my opinion not quite as wonderful as so many reviews make out on here. It is a continental breakfast of bread, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt and pastries - all of which were perfectly respectable. After reading one of the reviews on here, I knew I could order cappuccino with my breakfast, which was very nice.

The only annoyances were that the lift was fairly regularly out of order, and - as someone else said on here - the hotel can smell a bit of smoke at times. (It seems that many of the rooms are smoking rooms.)

I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at this lovely and very cosy hotel. Our children werw all left back home in Oslo and we really had the time to enjoy! We had the most wonderful room and it was all very clean. Very helpful staff and the most lovely roof terrace for brakfast and drinks at night. Very central and surprisingly good value for our money. We are both travelling a lot in business, and this was absolutely a very nice place to celebrate our 9. wedding day! The shower was, I must admit, very small, but who cares? (But I am happy we are not very big sized..) The only thing I think could have been better is the breakfast - the bread etc was rather dry and in Italy we expect fresh tomatoes etc. But if you like caces and sweets in the mornings I think you will enjoy your meal! However, the view and the atmosphere were so nice that we were happy anyway. We allready have recommanded the hotel to our friends..

What wonderful surprise after a long flight, friendly staff, a clean and comfortable room, unpack and like excited children out into the afternoon sun. Within five minutes the Trevi fountain, and so close to a number of major attractions. The breakfast was wonderful the quality of the food was first class, a wonderful way to start the day gazing over the rooftops in the sun. The staff were always helpful and friendly, this is why we will come back and we hope sooner than later.

My husband and I ended our honeymoon in Rome. It may not have been the best order as we arrived slightly tired and very disoriented after a train ride and cab ride. One staff member was slightly overbearing as we arrived and tried to ask simple questions regarding location and possible restaurants. He was pushy to make reservations when we weren't ready and each time was pushy to make them close to the hotel in which we felt they were either friends of his or he got commission from them. We will say the one place did have pretty good food but was nothing special. We had recommendations from our own friends in which he quickly put them down and told us they were no good. We would appreciate those comments and suggestions had he not been overbearing about it and sent us 1 block away to his "friends" This was really our only "bad" experience with them and even then it was NOT a big deal. The location is absolutely perfect!! The hotel smelled terribly of smoke throughout but the rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast is very nice and located on a very nice rooftop bar (that serves incredibly expensive drinks). Overall we would absolutely stay here again when in Rome and have recommended it to others!!! No place is perfect but for a large European city this is very good! :)

After staying at the Diana before our cruise this was so much better. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfasts were excellent with lovely fresh fruit and a variety of meats and cheeses. The rooms very very clean . Great location ! Can walk to Trevi fountain and the other major attractions. Highly recommend this hotel. The double glazed windows kept the noise out.

Our first trip to Rome was wonderful and a large part of that was due to the Albergo Cesari. In a great location walking distance to major sites. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Most important, the staff was fantastic!!! They were helpful from the moment we arrived to the time we left, helping with reservations for sites and pointing us in the direction of some excellent restaurants. Tomaso was awesome! We couldn't have been more pleased and hope to return there soon.

This is a delightful hotel, in a great location
The rooftop terrace is fabulous, with great breakfast and evening drinks ( summer )
The desk is staffed by the most friendly and helpful concierges I have ever come across.
