“Definitely a "Grand Hotel"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Location is perfect (only a block from Metro and lies on major cross-streets for taxis).

Service is amazing! Response time of butler was prompt, concierge team was responsive and spot-on for suggestions, and bartender was warm and welcoming after a long day of city touring. All lived up to the reputation of St. Regis.

Ammenities were typical St. Regis. Our room was upgraded to a large imperial room; quite spacious. Our friends had two other deluxe style rooms, and they also were quite spacious. The only complaint I would have is that there could be some renovations to the property to remove the very outdated decor. The property has a pleasant old-world decor, but a slight updating would benefit the property and lighten the feel.

The recent pricing change of the property (10-15% increase in Starwood points required for stay) is not appropriate in comparison to other Italian Starwood properties.

Dear Guest,
We are very pleased that you took the time to review your recent stay on TripAdvisor. Your list reflects some aspects upon which The St. Regis Rome prides itself for: its location to move easily, the bespoke service of the staff and its enhanced rooms. Although we are glad that everything lived up to your expectations, we also respect your opinion about the need of some renovations and, to this end, please allow us just to say that we strive to match the historical originality of our property with modern changes and contemporary pieces of arts. On behalf of the entire team, we are eager to have you and your friends again at the “grand hotel”!
Kind regards,

This place will impress from the first moment inside the doors. The desk personnel are top notch! The detail in the lobby will blow you away. It is very impressive. Grand is the word that applies to this hotel. I had two stays there in a 10 day period and both were consistently wonderful. The Imperial room I had each time was very impressive. Oh, they also let me check in at 12:30 in the afternoon which was great at no extra charge. With the jet lag, this was nice. The rooms are grand as well. They provided complimentary coffee and cookies when we checked in. The room had fruit and wine for us on each visit. The rooms had king beds and tubs with separate showers. You cannot get better than this place which is located within Rome very well.

I had a very good stay at the St. Regis, definitely a high-quality luxury hotel. I used the room service once, and the food was really of high quality. The gym was also pretty good, with enough space to train well and with good equipment.

Coming to the room, I have to say that I would have expected a bit more, as the bed was practically touching the cupboard, making it very difficult to walk around the room. The bathroom, on the other hand, was spacious and with a great shower.

Given its awesome location, right next to Piazza della Repubblica, the St. Regis is an ideal hotel for business and tourism. Recommended!

After visiting St Regis Florence I was totally disappointed in St Regis Rome. The hotel is so outdated and you can smell the dust in the room.
The good thing was that they upgraded us to a bigger room.
Room service, laundry, reception took a very long time to answer.
The concierge was good and really helpful.
I really recommend that is place to be renovated.

Dear Guest,
We greatly respect your feedback about your recent experience at the St. Regis Rome. We equally appreciate your positive comments about the efficiency of the concierge service and even more your negative ones, since they represent a valid instrument in helping us identify opportunities for improvement. We deeply apologize if room service, laundry and reception staff did not provide the expected level of assistance and if the style and décor of the hotel disappointed you. Nonetheless, allow us just to say that we run periodical programs of maintenance, in order to meet and satisfy the expectations and requirements of all our guests.
We will certainly focus our efforts on the areas you have highlighted and we hope you will give us another opportunity to show you the results of our improvements on a future visit to Rome.

Our first time in Rome with our two young children turned out to be an amazing experience. The hotel is so grand with lots of charm. Our room was surprisingly spacious with a beautiful decor. Not to mention, an awesome breakfast, complimentary champagne and tea time!!!! The location is walking distance to the spanish steps and other must see's while in Rome. Two thumbs up for this hotel!!!!!

Tip -> The name on the actual hotel building reads 'The Grand Hotel' as of
this writing.
So don't get confused when you are walking down the street looking for the St. Regis.
We took the train in from Florence and if you don't have too much luggage you can walk. It's about a 10 minute brisk walk and it's literally on the same street as the train station as in you can see it from there.
Most Taxi drivers will not want to take you because the fare is so minimal and they don't want to loose their place in line out front for the larger fares.
All appearances show the hotel is everything a 5 Star should be. Rooms are comfortable and our bathroom had the rain bird style shower which is nice . There is also a bathtub to soak your feet in after walking all day. We are on 3rd floor room 303 and there is no view other than the narrow street below. You should be out walking the streets anyway or utilize the double decker hop on hop off bus and tour Rome.
We did not eat in the dining room but looks nice.
In the morning if
you want coffee to bring back to the room you have to ask them and they will bring in paper cups . They do not have a self serve coffee station set up like other hotels often do.

We stayed here for 2 nights, and had a beautiful room. The hotel is rich in history, not in the center of all the chaos, but in walking distance from everything. It's large, old school, and very opulent. The manager and the manager on duty were very helpful, everything was perfect. The breakfast(s) were memorable. The only complaint I might have, if I have to dig for one, would be that I think it is offensive to charge a minimal fee for wi-fi on top of what is an expensive accommodation. Otherwise, no complaints.
