Hotel Morgana is located one block from Termini station making it a great base for siteseeing and exploring. Buses go everywhere and you can walk to the Coliseum (for example) in about 15 minutes. The Termini area in general is very safe though keep a very watchful eye out for pickpockets when you are passing the station and riding the Metro or buses. NOTHING in your outside pockets. The room was small, though not by Roman standards, and was very comfortable to spend time in. The hotel was obviously renovated recently and is very pleasant and clean. This hotel had previously been reviewed poorly by one person who did not care for the decor in the breakfast room. Extremely nit picky in my opinion. There was a fridge in our room (and I think in all of the rooms) which made it very easy to keep yogurt, milk, etc in for snacks. The hotel's breakfast is probably overpriced for what you get though we did not try it. There is a full grocery store in Termini (another big plus) so you can easily buy your own food. There are LOTS of restaurants nearby of all different cost levels. Staff were, at times, slightly snotty but were always helpful so that is a minor point. Wireless internet is available at no charge and worked perfectly. Only gripe? Traffic/street noise is a huge problem. We asked for a room at the back and this was of little use. There did seem to be a small courtyard so you may be able to get a room which faces it. If not, ask for a room on the highest floor (7th) which may help and be sure to bring ear plugs.

Have just come back from a very quick stay in Rome. We stayed in Hotel Morgana overnight on 28 February, we had two single rooms. What a lovely hotel and they could not do enough for us! The rooms were really nice, small doubles and having arrived early, they allowed us to check in to one room so we could pop our bags in and not have to carry them around, We also left our bags at the hotel whilst we went sightseeing on the Sunday. Was a lovely stay and would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed in the Morgana Hotel for 3 nights in February while in the city to watch the Italy v Ireland Rugby match. Even before we arrived at the hotel the staff were helpful and sent directions to the hotel from Termini Station via email, although we misinterpreted their instruction slightly wrong and ended up doing a lap around the station. We soon realised though that you simply go out the ‘GIOLITTI’ exit, cross the road, take the first street of the left and it is then on the street on the next left. Not even a 10-minute walk.

The location is probably the hotels greatest selling point as it is close to everything. A 15-20 minute walk will take you to the main tourist hotspots and we never had to take a taxi or tram once during our stay, yet covered most of the sites. Even the walk to the stadium was only about 45-50mins.

As for the hotel itself, it is very clean and has a certain character about it. A quick read in the visitors book will show that all nationalities use the hotel and there were very few negative comments.

The only major negatives we had were around the size of the room (400). Lets just say it only took the cleaner 30 seconds to hoover the small patch of carpet in the room. We maybe struck it unlucky, but our double room would not even be classed as a single in some hotels. The smallest, most uncomfortable bed, that you could only get into from one side, as it was jammed up against the wall on the other side. There was one tiny wardrobe hid away in a corner that was about 4ft tall, which we didn’t even try to use.

Saying all that, I am of the opinion that we don’t go away to spend all our time in the hotel room and we were rarely in it. If we had of wanted to do that and have a larger room, we would have spent our money in a more expensive hotel.

Spent a January weekend break with a large group of friennds at the Morgana. We had a range of rooms, and we were all located helpfully on the same floor.

Our room overlooked a small courtyard and it was nice to be able to open a window and listen to the sounds of Roman life. Although small, the room had everything you need, including a tv with bbc worldservice for the football results! Bathroom was bright and clean, with a jacuzzi bath (very difficult to turn off - be warned!)

Location was excellent - walked from the Termini station to the hotel in a few minutes. Plenty of restaurants in the area and shops, cash points, bars around too. We found it easy to get around and enjoy the sights of Rome. Front desk has an excellent supply of maps - just ask.

Breakfast was ample; a small selection of cooked food, cereal and pastries. Order hot drinks from the waitress!

We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again, as would our friends, and are looking forward to going back to Rome!

I just got back from a 17 day stay in Italy with my 3 children and mother. We stayed in Rome at the start of our trip then traveled south to Sicily and worked our way back up to Rome for our last night. The last place we stayed was Hotel Morgana for one night. What a welcome change it was. It is a very clean and beautiful hotel! The beds are comfy and the rooms are warm and quiet. The showers were clean and big with a nice bathtub and hot water that lasted forever. The service is beyond what we had anywhere else in Italy. The price was very good too. We had two adjoining rooms for the 5 of us and only paid 175 euro for the night. We had free wifi from anywhere in the building...including our room. In other hotels we had to pay for the wifi and only use it in the lobby. My teen was thrilled to use her laptop and catch up with friends after being out of touch for the last two weeks. I didn't have to worry about her being down in the lobby alone because she could use it from the room. The breakfast was excellent. It was in a very pretty room with big comfy chairs and great service. It included scrambled eggs and meats and lots of other choices that we had not seen before in more expensive hotels. The staff spoke very good english...which at this point in the trip was a nice relief to us. The hotel is within walking distance (2 blocks) to the termini train station...so no 30 Euro fee for a taxi. Before the trip I was under the impression that it was not a good idea to stay near termini. But it was fine and nice to be so close to the metro, buses, and trains to go anywhere in Rome easily. We had stayed near piazza navona at the start of our trip and it was nice to be on the little cobble stone streets in the quiet area of Rome. But I would not do it again since everything closes and you are away from the action. This hotel was safe and very beautiful inside. I highly recomend Hotel Morgana for anyone staying in Rome.
