“Great hotel, only 5 min walk from Termini”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

As promised to the great hotel staff, I would write a review about this hotel. We stayed for 5 nights/2persons. First, we booked a standard double room but when we checked in we got another room that was renovated. This was super. But then we entered this room and it was small, only 1 small mirror above the sink in the bathroom and it was very warm. We went to the reception about the AC/heater and if they could do something about it. Since it was my bday, the lovely lady and guy at the reception asked if we wanted an free upgrade to the masterroom. Without any hesitation we said YESS. This room was SUPERB but the pillows were not so clean. There was hair on it, but we called and got new fresh clean pillows and sheets. The staff is really helpful & friendly. Continental breakfast with a lot to choose from. Good location from Termini. But only downside is that the neighbourhood is not really safe. Many guys on streets in the night. Would stay in Barberini next time. This is a more central location.

Room Tip: Get the masterroom!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your nice review. We are glad to know that you overall enjoyed your stay at the Hotel Morgana and we are happy that our Staff has been helpful. We always try to do our best for our Guests.
Termini is the main railway station of Rome and the area is busy. as every railway station in the world, but it's safe at the same time.
We hope that you will choose our property again in the future. We also have other properties near Colosseum and at the Spanish Steps, if you would like to try other locations.
Many thanks again for your comments.
Best regards.

We stayed here for 2 nights for my 30th birthday. We asked for a room on a high level as I'm a light sleeper. We get put in the first floor right on the road side. We asked to be moved and then our room was very small but modern. Breakfast was great. Don't ask what restaurant they recommend, we went to one and my dinner was like a microwave meal. Very disappointing. The restaurant almost next door is brilliant! Staff very friendly. Bed are comfy too. Ideally located. Near to everything. Enjoyed our stay.

Had a wonderful, winter city break in Rome with my girlfriend staying at Hotel Morgana on the Via Fillippo Turati.

Located conveniently by the Termini train station, all of the major sites were comfortably accessible on foot from the hotel. Also conveniently close to a Metro station when visiting the Vatican City.

Room was newly renovated, buffet breakfast was excellent with a very friendly concierge who made sure that the guests did not leave breakfast without being offered cappuccinos, espressos and Italian pastries.

Reception were extremely helpful with making reservations at particular restaurants.

Highly recommend a visit.

Hotel Morgana is ideally situated for travel by air or rail with the train station (Stazione Termini) being only a three minutes walk on level ground from the hotel. It is also an excellent location being very central to all the major sightseeing attractions which are within easy walking distance.
The staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful. The cosy room was large considering the rate and location. Décor was a little dated but the bedroom and bathroom was pleasantly comfortable, clean and more than practical as a touring base. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice and well worth including in the room rate, especially if you plan to do a lot of calorie consuming walking around the city, which is on many levels requiring a good pair of cushioned shoes to cope with the cobblestones and countless mountainous ascending and descending flights of steps.
There is no in-house restaurant, but the choice within a few minutes stroll provides another opportunity to explore. I would call Morgana an upscale hotel style Bead and Breakfast rather than a Hotel, but nonetheless this was perfect for our purpose as most of the time in Rome you are away from your hotel taking in the wonders of a bygone empire. I will definitely stay at Hotel Morgana the next time I am in Rome.

Room Tip: I only stayed in 3rd floor twin room overlooking the street and it was January so there were not too...

You can't beat Hotel Morgana for a convenient, well-appointed hotel for a Rome city break! My wife and I enjoyed our 2-night stay very much and the staff were absolutely wonderful.
LOCATION
The hotel location is absolutely perfect for those coming in by rail from the airport as it is less than 5 minutes' walk. Use the side exit from Termini (near the ticket office) for an even quicker journey. This is also good for leaving your bags at the hotel after check-out so that you can make the most of your last day unencumbered. The hotel staff were only too glad to do this.
AMENITIES
The hotel is quite small and can seem cramped. The lifts are tiny and not for the claustrophobic! Yet everything is done so nicely. The entry lounge was stocked with croissants and pastries with complementary coffee. Our breakfast was included and the dining room was comfortable. A great continental buffet selection was on offer including waiter service for coffee and the most wonderful kitchen-baked pastries. Wi-Fi was patchy in the room but in the reception area and lounge it worked well.
ROOM
Possibly a notch down from 4-star and a tad tired but very comfortable. The 5th floor (top) was very quiet. The double bed was great. Bathroom was good but slight clog in the drain of the shower - nothing major. There was a bit of a drain smell in the bathroom on the second night but nothing too unobjectionable. All-in-all a great room. No coffee maker but there was a safe.
STAFF
Top-notch. All the staff were so very helpful and spoke English very well. They helped us sort out our visit to the Capuchin Crypt and were only too willing to print things off if you sent them an email. Fantastic!
Definitely consider this hotel for your Rome city break. We were glad we did!

Room Tip: Top floor in the back was very quiet
