Stayed here after arriving in Rome without a reservation. Front door somewhat lost among the storefronts, I passes it by my first time by. However from accross the street
in the square it becomes appararent that this is a large majestic hotel despite the
diminuative front entrance and lobby. A walk to the second floor reveals a very pleasant old world lobby/lounge complete with vintage artwork. I found guests in the lounge chatting about their experiences in Rome on a regular basis, it is a relaxing atmoshpere that encourages the guests to chat. The clientele seems to be
mostly British & American tourists. Roberto Lombardi was the concierge on duty when
I arrived unnanounced he was able to provide a room at a fair price and the service was great. He was able to magically create a parking space and find a carpark, a good dinner recommendation and suggested a great late night walk to the Colloseum. He and all of the staff here really went out of their way to be helpful. The shower
was tiny, but the room was comfortable, the price was right. Internet was slow but FREE and breakfast was decent and included. This hotel is good, and the price and service are great. I give the Hotel Napoleon five stars even though it is not five star by American standards, the combination of good service and value in central Rome earn it my five star recommendation. You could only do better at 3 to 5 times the price.
