This was our third trip to Rome but our first stay at this hotel. We stayed two nights at the conclusion of our two weeks in Italy. We were not familiar with this part of the city and were concerned about getting around but as other reviewers have noted, the Metro is right outside the front door and you can be anywhere pretty quickly. The happy surprise is the staff. Everyone was friendly, solicitous, and accommodating. The concierge helped with directions and recommendations, the porter was helpful, and front desk staff was very pleasant during a busy but organized check-in. The room was spotless and the shower was great. The room was located in an alley near a fire escape so there was no view but we were not in the room much and when we were, the air conditioner was very effective - for which we were grateful. We were invited to a wine tasting on Friday night and it was fun. Because we were leaving very early for the airport and could not have breakfast, the front desk ordered a bagged breakfast for us to take with us. How nice! They have free wi-fi and you can print out your boarding passes through the printer at the concierge desk. The staff truly could not have been nicer. We enjoyed our stay at the Napoleon.
