My husband & I stayed at Hotel Regno for six nights, from 12th October 2009. We found the location ideal for getting to various sights. We had a room on the sixth floor, with a lovely terrace, large enough to sit out and enjoy, with flowering plants. The double-bed was placed against the wall, which was a bit inconvenient, but the bathroom was very up-to-date and there was always hot water. Unfortunately the sounds from the neighbouring bathroom were very evident, when running baths or showers. The Reception & Breakfast Room Staff were always so friendly and helpful and we always got a smile. The small entrance hides a great little Hotel.

We have just got back from a 3 night post cruise stay at the Regno. We hav estayed in Rome before a number of times at better and more expensive hotels.

However with the cost of the cruise we were a little more cost concious this time in selecting the hotel.
The hotel has a brilliant location within easy walking distance to all the main tourist sights. We had a great room at the top overlooking the Via Del Corso. There were no noise problems as the heavy curtains and double glazing blocked out any street noise.
Our friends room was at the back and had two single beds which didnt impress and as the hotel was full they couldnt changed, so had to push them together.

Breakfast as previously stated on this thread was nothing to write home about and the coffee was almost undrinkable but it was enough to get us going.

The staff were helpful and very pleasant and arranged an airport transfer for us, as well as giving recommendations for somewhere to eat.

If you have big money to spend then stay somewhere better, but for what we paid we were more than satisfied

If you enjoy listening` to the people in the next room using the toilet on the other side of the wall next to the bed..this is the place for you. If you enjoy the skill by management to shrug the shoulders..again this is the place for you...Position good...but suggest look for something else.

This is a our second stay at the Hotel Regno. First stayed in June 2007 and was so happy with our stay then we decided to stay again this year.

The hotel is so centrally located and within easy walking distance of all the major attractions.
We had two stays at the hotel this year 3 days prior to a cruise and two days after.

Our room on the first stay was great except for the bathrom every time we had a shower we nearlly flooded the bathroom. Didn't matter what we tried we could not adjust shower nozzle to stop it spraying onto the floor.

Also the airconditoining unit was very noisy and old.

On our return stay our room was so tiny we could hardly move. To be honest it was really only suitable for one person. Also once again the shower nozzle faced the wrong way and we flooded the bathroom floor each time we showered. Also the lock on the bathroom door was broken. The air conditioning unit inthis room was also nosiy and on the last day it broke down.

The carpet in hthe hallways was in need of a good clean.

My husband was unable to drink the coffee at breakfast .
On a positive note the staff were always friendly and helpful.

Would only stay at the hotel again if we were guarantee us a larger room than our last stay and that the air conditioning unit and showers hd been fixed.

We spent four memorable nights in Rome, and loved our stay at Hotel Regno. It is clean, neat and spacious with lovely friendly staff. The location is central to all the must see landmarks, restaurants and shops. We had a lovely spacious terrace over looking Via Del Corso - not that we spent much time out there.

Hotel Regno was recommended to us and I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely spot to anyone looking for a central affordable hotel in Rome.

Breakfast was nothing to write home about. My husband and l love our Italian coffee and realised after our first breakfast, in order to get a 'real' cafe latte we had to specify we wanted 'espresso e caffe latte' as they were bringing us a pot of frothed milk with disgusting instant coffee. They must have thought we dont know real coffee. Other than this little hiccup l would recommend Hotel Regno as a great spot.
