A totally fantastic hotel, we loved it. We flew in Ryan air which was poor and decided to take the ryan air bus to Termini Station which was a hugh mistake - dont do it we wasted about 2 hours.

When we arrived at our room at 2am we were so pleased to see that the room was clean, spacious and the staff were very helpfull.

I would recommend you try the Restaurant 34 which is near the spanish steps - fab Roman food at affordable prices. We also went to the Supper Club which was expensive but such an experience - we met gay porn stars, the mafia and some very strange Dutch people who were really into each other!!!!!

All in all an excellent mini break - tourists sites are nearly all free and the people are wonderful.

We have just returned from a 7 day holiday at the Regno. The location of this hotel can't be bettered, within walking distance of all the main attractions although we did catch a bus, no. 62, to the Vatican, from the bus stop just outside. Trevi, Pantheon and Piazza Navona just a few minutes away. We were upgraded to a very nice room with kitchenette on the fifth floor. We were on the back of the hotel and so heard none of the noise others here had complained of. The breakfast was adequate and snacks and coffees were available all day. Although we had read that there was no restaurant, we were surprised to find that dinners were served between 7 and 9pm each evening, which was useful if you were too tired to make the effort to go back out after a strenuous day! We found all the hotel staff to be very friendly and more than helpful and their English was superb. The room itself was kept very clean. Accepting that this is not on the grand five star scale, we certainly would have no hesitation in recommending it for those who want a more than adequate, centrally located hotel.

Our family of four stayed a week at the Hotel Regno. All 4 of us stayed in one room, which was very adequate (and hard to find in Europe). The staff was most cordial at all times and helpful to guide us to our destinations. A hearty breakfast of wonderful croissants, bread rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruits, coffee, tea or cappuccino (made by Sarah) was a great way to start the day. We only ate one other meal during the day, plus drank wonderful Italian wine. The hotel's location is ideal...so close to many of the popular sites and a bus stop right outside the hotel door to go to other sites. Bank across the street. A tobacconist shop (to buy bus tickets) around the corner to the left. Take bus #62 to Vatican and #175 to the train station. Ride to Florence on the EuroStar Train and be there in 1-1/2 hrs. Great city to visit even on a day trip. We would definitely stay here again. Have a great time!

We thought the Hotel Regno, in some aspects, was great. The location can't be beat. The rooms are large and comfortable. There's an elevator, and breakfast is filling and plentiful. Unfortunately, the front desk staff seems to care very little about helping their guests. We felt like anything we asked them inconvenienced them. At one point, a hotel employee, without knocking, entered our room in the middle of the afternoon and surprised us. He quickly left without an explanation. I called the front desk and asked twice in person what the employee needed or was doing. I was completely ignored, told to ask another desk clerk, or told coldly that they would look into it - with no follow up or apology or any concern. I am sure the employee was restocking the mini bar or something legit, but it was startling when it happened and the front desk's complete lack of help and interest shocked me. Because of the attitude of these clerks, I would not recommend this hotel.

We spent four nights at the Regno during September 2005. The hotel is in a great location, near the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, night markets and walking distance (if you don't mind walking) to the Vatican. In general we found the hotel to be fine, except when we ordered a breakfast to go when we had a 6.45am pickup for a tour. The breakfast was ordered the night before, but nothing was ready and when asked, the guy on Reception was not happy when we asked him to check the kitchen. He hurriedly threw a few things into a bag - warm yoghurt, stale and sweaty croissants plus a bad attitude do not make a good service. We also found the normal breakfasts to be average when compared to other hotels.

However, if you want a hotel in a great location - you cannot go past the Regno. By the way - if it looks like rain, make sure that you take your own umbrella as the hotel does not provide umbrellas for guests - something that would be appreciated and that could be charged to your room if you fail to return it. Also, watch the internet - we paid for two hours and did not get the full time and where told by Reception that it was not their problem - it was the ISP - but we paid the hotel!!
