Booked a long weekend at the Regno and by and large enjoyed the experience.
The location is superb - right on the Via Del Corso, and five minutes from the Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, and only a little further to the Forum and the Colosseum, and Piazza Navona. The price of such a central location is there is quite a bit of traffic noise when the windows were open - but when closed the double glazing did it's job exceptionally well.
The continental breakfast was good - lots of good coffee, decent pastries, ham, cheese & salami. Breakfast was served in quite a small room - on occasions people had to wait to be seated. The room doubled up as a bar and restaurant - limited menu - in the evening, but didn't seem to be particularly popular, with so much choice right outside the door !
The bedroom was relatively small, but pleasantly furnished and exceptionally clean.
The only negatives were firstly, that the air conditioning wasn't the most efficient I've come across. It coped reasonably with average September temperatures, but I wouldn't like to be in the rooms in July & August if it didn't improve. Secondly, the reception staff were a bit hit & miss, ranging from extremely helpful, to abrupt and disinterested. On a few occasions we found that asking a different staff member half an hour later, made the impossible easy.
All in all, given the price and location, a good choice, and one I'd go back to.
