Booked a long weekend at the Regno and by and large enjoyed the experience.

The location is superb - right on the Via Del Corso, and five minutes from the Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, and only a little further to the Forum and the Colosseum, and Piazza Navona. The price of such a central location is there is quite a bit of traffic noise when the windows were open - but when closed the double glazing did it's job exceptionally well.

The continental breakfast was good - lots of good coffee, decent pastries, ham, cheese & salami. Breakfast was served in quite a small room - on occasions people had to wait to be seated. The room doubled up as a bar and restaurant - limited menu - in the evening, but didn't seem to be particularly popular, with so much choice right outside the door !

The bedroom was relatively small, but pleasantly furnished and exceptionally clean.

The only negatives were firstly, that the air conditioning wasn't the most efficient I've come across. It coped reasonably with average September temperatures, but I wouldn't like to be in the rooms in July & August if it didn't improve. Secondly, the reception staff were a bit hit & miss, ranging from extremely helpful, to abrupt and disinterested. On a few occasions we found that asking a different staff member half an hour later, made the impossible easy.

All in all, given the price and location, a good choice, and one I'd go back to.

Six of us stayed at the Hotel Regno from September 14-Sept 17, 2005. 200euros per night per room. Two rooms were upgraded to suites complete with a terrace overlooking the street. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. For the most part I found the staff to be very helpful. They were more than willing to make tour arrangements, call taxis etc. I loved the location. One block from the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon was about one block behind the hotel. I felt completely safe both in the hotel and in Rome. I would definately recommend this hotel and I will stay there again when I return (and I will return; Rome is great). Fiftyish traveler.

This hotel is in a great location, minutes walk from the attractions in central Rome. The hotel is very clean and pleasantly decorated. It also has air conditioning (which works). We were fortunate to have a fifth floor room with a small roof terrace furnished with small plants. The room was small but the terrace made up for this.
My only criticisms are that the front desk service was unreliable (messages not passed on) and the food at breakfast ran out before the last serving. Also, the beds are very short!
On the whole it is a very good hotel and I would certainly visit it again.

Loved this hotel. It's right down the street from the Trevi fountain and a short walk to the Roman Forums, the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Spanish Steps. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are BEAUTIFUL and SPACIOUS and the area cannot be beat. It's a safe and upbeat street (Via del Corso), one of the main streets in Rome.

My wife and i stayed at the regno for our first anniversary and what a stay!
a brilliant hotel in the most ideal location possible!! we found the location to be the most important aspect when visiting rome. it was 1 minute walk from the trevi fountain and no more than 2 minutes from the pantheon and over five minutes from the piazza navona (three of the "must see" points in rome) our room although not huge was adequate, clean and comfortable.
our balcony overlooked the trevi-pantheon walkway filled with busy little restaurants. it was very cheap (£200 for four nights!) it was only about a 20 minute walk to the collosium too.
the only negatives were the bed was too short and im not even 6 foot! some of the staff werent too helpful (although never rude) and they ran out of some food at 9;50 (our fault really as its served till 10 which is quite convenient and the waitress smuggled me a do-nut from the kitchen)
on the whole VERY much reccomended
