My friend and I stayed at the Regno from 5-9 June 2009. All I can say is it is in an absolutely fabulous location, numerous shops, restaurants and all the best attractions are within walking distance. Rooms are of a good size for Rome, to our shock they had given us a double bed but that wasnt a problem as the bed was very large! Bathroom was clean and tidy, mirrors everywhere. Our room looked over the villa de corso main street, however the double glazing was excellent and drowned about 95% of the street noise. I would recommend the Piccolo Bucco restaurant which is a small family run place just around the corner from the Trevi Fountain, try to avoid the restaurants that prey on you as you walk past, the food is good but they do pressure you and were too mainstream for our liking. We took an open top bus tour but found this was not necessary due to the close proximity of all the best sites. You must see the Vatican and Piazza Navona is great for people watching and a cappacino. Take your credit card - across the road from the Spanish Steps, Gucci, Prada, Versaci and all the top names. The trip was expensive but well worth it, I will definitely be going back for round 2 next year.

My wife and I stayed here from the 25th through the 28th of May. If was a great location with easy walking access to all major attractions. We only took a cab to train station to leave. Rooms were clean although it does need new carpet etc but clean for Italy. Bathrooms were fine although the hot/cold pulsed a lot. Great breakfast and very helpful staff. It was pricey, but I think if you want to stay in the heart of Ancient Rome you're going to pay those rates anywhere.

I have stayed at this hotel twice with my husband for 4 day breaks. The location of the hotel is excellent as you can walk to all the historic attractions from here. Loads of restaurants & bars within easy walking distance. The hotel is clean, the staff have always been helpful, and the rooms have both been of decent size with good bathroom facilities. The buffet breakfast is standard for Rome & of good quality with plenty of food & as much as you want. Yes if you want a cooked breakfast you can have it if you pay for it in the hotel, but after all if you booked bed & buffet breakfast, that is what you will get. We will most deffinitely be staying at this hotel on our next trip to Rome & have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. I would say it is most geared to couples & small groups.

My wife and I stayed with two friends at the Hotel Regno for six nights. My friend booked the stay in Rome through Kirker Holidays and, after the booking was made, I did have some reservations after reading some comments on Trip Advisor - some were very good and other very poor. However Kirker are normally very good so I did look on the positive side.
The location of the hotel is excellent, there are dozens of good restaurants nearby and it was nice to join the crowds at either the Trevi Fountain or the Pantheon before turning in for the night.
We found the hotel reception staff upon arrival (Rosa and Gabrielle) both friendly and helpful. We had booked a room with a bath but the room offered only had a shower. Fortunately the hotel were able to offer us the choice of two further rooms, both with baths. The rooms were a good size with ample storage etc. Our room overlooked the Via del Corso which is a busy road but fortunately the windows were double glazed and eliminated most of the traffic noise (apart from police sirens). We were able to keep these closed at night since the room was air conditioned. Although the standard of decoration was a little tired the level of cleanliness was very good with clean towels daily and bed linen changed every other day.
As in other Trip Advisor comments the breakfast situation could be much improved. The number of tables was inadequate for the number of guests so if you arrived later that 8.00am you would search for a table (especially for more than two). The coffee was dreadful and they only seemed to provide enough fresh fruit for the first few diners. After the first day we found a really good deli down the Via delle Muratte (opposite the hotel and near the Trevi Fountain) where we brought our own bananas and took them into breakfast. However I have no complaints about the cold buffet, the cereals or croissants. If you wanted something hot it did cost extra, my wife did have a runny boiled egg one morning for 1.70 euro!!
Although there was a number for room service this was never answered. After visiting reception we did manage to get a pot of tea sent to the room after about 40 minutes.
To summarise the hotel was in a great location, it was clean and we had no major complaints – the breakfast accommodation the only thing that really let them down.
