A top-quality, good sized room with a little balcony-ette to sip wine in the evening overlooking the Via del Corso. The double bed was two large singles bolted together - it was comfortable and enormous! I have a feeling we might have been upgraded from a standard room so I can't comment if all the rooms are the same standard. My girlfriend had a bad foot so the location was perfect, about 20 minutes walk to the colosseum and 30 minutes to the Vatican, with loads of other monuments in between. Breakfast was fine, loads of good restaurants / bars nearby, very friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again if I went back to Rome.

I have just spent 6 nites in the Hotel Regno Rome, as part of a 3 week trip around Italy with my partner and 2 children aged 9 and 13. The Hotel Regno was suggested by our agent but unfortunately, the Hotel was not quite what we expected.

Some points to note were:
+ tiny rooms;
+ rooms in need of maintenance - ie lots of peeling paint
+ front desk staff with attitude (ie Question _ "We are catching a taxi to the station. Do we just pay the fare on the taxi meter or are there additional charges for baggage ..." Answer "I do not know. Ask the driver what he thinks...";
+ the hotel has a good central location but no charm.

I think we paid EURO 150 per night, for a double room. WHile I understand Rome is expensive, I feel we were paying a lot for very little. We got much better value in Milan (Hotel Lloyd) and Venice (Hotel Schiavello)

We would have moved to another hotel with comparable rates (for example the Capo de Africa) but for the fact that we had already paid for our rooms at the Regno.

Hotel Regno is in an excellent location. Easy distance to the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, the Colosseum etc.

We found the hotel to be clean, friendly and very functional. Good directions and advice given at reception.

Our room was on the 3rd floor and had a great view over the Via Corsa, including a small balcony. Perhaps the rooms at the rear of the building maybe not so good. The room however, did have very thin walls.

It has no lounge area as such but as Rome has so much to offer we didn't want to spend time in the hotel.

Breakfast was adequate and if you are not too late in dining had lots of variety.

We booked via BA, and our four night stay with breakfast was at the same rate as a travel inn in the UK.Marvelous value.

Excellent value.

We stayed at the Regno for 3 nights at the end of our holiday. The people at check in were friendly and helpful.

The position of the Hotel is perfect for both shopping and sightseeing. The Hotel itself is a bit of a rabbit warren with a lot of steps, but our room was quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. The furnishings were new and elegant and the room was very comfortable.

The breakfast room was busy as some others have mentioned, but we always found a table. Some rooms opened off the breakfast room and I should think they must have been noisy.

All in all, it was much better than 2 stars and I would stay there again, especially for the position, right on the Via Corso.

I stayed at this Hotel in October 2008 for 3 nights. Whilst the location is good , I'm sure you could find better accommodation for the price in the same area. The room - single - was adequate but the shower was a shower base with a curtain which meant the floor flooded each time it was used. The staff were disinterested to the point of being rude.
