“Fabulous location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Regno recently. It was our very first stop in Italy, and it was a fabulous place to stay. I wasn't expecting 5 star accommodation - the photos on TripAdvisor showed it looked tired. But the price was right. Turned out my expectations of the room were correct. But despite all the "location location location" reviews, I was still totally surprised by its location. This is the fabulous part of staying at Hotel Regno. You step out the front door, and everything is so close. We walked everywhere from the hotel. Only a couple of minutes and you're at the Trevi Fountain. My favourite was stumbling across Piazza Rotondo and the Pantheon - only 5 minutes walk away. Service was good at Hotel Regno. Breakfast was also good. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I spent nights in three different hotels while in Italy and this was by far my favorite. The room was large enough to have a day bed, which was great for relaxing. The shower was fantastic and had lots of water pressure. The location was fantastic... easy walking to many of the major sites, plus you are on a main road which makes it easy for finding your way back. If I ever go back to Rome, I would have no problem staying here again. One thing is, it is not close to the train station so a cab is a must!

From the moment we walked into this small Hotel Regno we were greeted with smiles & friendliness.
While our room was small, which was expected, but it was very clean. We also had a delightful balcony to ourselves, with a pretty potted garden. Hotel Regno is in a great position, a short stroll to the Panethon one way and the Trevi Fountain the other way. Al fresco dining each way you walked great shops nearby.
We would stay at the Hotel Regno again, but would request a balcony room again.
Vino on the balcony was a highlight in Rome

Location fantastic, so close to all the attractions. We walked from hotel to everything including Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. Hotel staff so nice and helpful, even advising which bus to catach from railway station and where to get off. The room was clean and large and we we given a room on the top floor with a large balcony overlooking the main street and with some attractions within sight. Breakfast was adequate, wifi in room was a bit hit and miss, but good from internet room. Yes the hotel is old, but so are most things in Rome, and adds to the charm of the hotel. Highly recommend hotel.

Location is absolutely fantastic but I was extremely disappointed that the photo's on their web site matched none of the rooms I saw. Booked a twin room over 12 months ago and arrived to discover we were put into a VERY small room-likened it to a broom cupboard!! Avoid room 236 at all costs. THE WHOLE Hotel is in desperate need of a complete makeover and the Staff need to have some lessons on how not to be abrupt and dismissive of customers- including the very rude lady in the breakfast room-every request made to her seems a bother. This is definately not a Hotel worthy of 3 stars. We were moved to 4 different rooms during 2 prepaid visits and they were all in desperate need of a good reno. Last 2 nights spent in a room (supposedly upgraded us after 1st disastrous visit) which had a bathroom ceiling covered in water stains and mould with a leaking toilet and broken toilet seat, and torn wallpaper in room with dirty walls. We will never recommend this Hotel to anyone. Our travel agent has used this Hotel for over 20 years but will not recommend it to her clients again.

A brilliant central location with everything you would probably want to see within walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable albeit if you are looking for stylish this is probably not the place for you. We had a room on the 6th floor and as you would expect the water pressure was a bit hit and miss.
The breakfasts were great (coffee delicious) and went on until 10.30.

Stayed here end of August with husband and daughter. Room adequate, clean and with air con which was a joy in 40 degree heat. Staff friendly and helpful - typical continental breakfast. Walked everywhere from this Hotel including Vatican. When going to visit Colosseum we got our tickets from Palatine entrance as queues were less. Also booked Vatican online in England to avoid queues. Pantheon a must (free) which is behind hotel, Trevi across the road (5 mins) Also carry an empty water bottle with you as there a numerous water fountains to fill it up saving money. Safe to drink. Would stay here again. Recommend.
