The hotel itself is very good. A nice building, clean and comfortable rooms and a wonderful garden. But it is OK only if you do not go out.
The location is terrible. The hotel is situated between the two lanes of the circular road among warehouses and industrial markets. By car you need 1 hour to reach the Centrum in rush hours. This could cost 50 or more euros by taxi. Public transport is not an option also - the only bus that takes you to the metro runs at intervals of 50 minutes.
Another problem of the hotel was the breakfast - it was poor and insufficient.

Location of the hotel is terrible not suitable if you plan on visting Rome. In a very awkward place, even the taxi driver could not find it!

We found the hotel to be clean and tidy and breakfast offered choice.

However the attitude of the reception staff was appalling. they were rude and not helpful at all. When we asked how we could travel into Rome, we were told it was a quick 10 minutes walk to the Metro. This we found was on an extremly busy motorway and definitely not 10 minutes, we decided to turn back.

On leaving the hotel we were asked to pay a £17 bill for watching the TV, which we had not even turned on!

We were only fortunate that we stayed for one night. The attitude of the staff would prevent me from recomending it to anyone.

  • Liked — Close to the airport
  • Disliked — Poor attitude of staff

We stayed there between 7th June and 10th June but had some doubts after reading some of the negative reviews.

However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was quite a nice place to stay. Staff were courteous, food was in abundance and excellent and even the small swimming pool was a nice 'plus'.

Although it is located in a non-central area, the quite frequent bus service (503 to either Metro station at Anagnina or Cinecitta and onwards to anywhere in Rome) and occasional courtesy bus service were quite easy.

Rooms were nice and spacious and even small extra touches like projected TV in the conference room showing World Cup games all made this a most pleasant stay for the three of us. If given the chance, would certainly stay here again.

I booked this hotel because on the BestWestern website it said that it had:
- "Multilingual staff (English, Italian, French, German and Spanish)"
- "Local shuttle , Courtesy car to the underground station on request"
- "Room service"

I speak both English and French and still had trouble asking the staff at the front desk to book a taxi for me to get to the airport. I don't expect hotel staff in foreign countries to be able to communicate with me in English, but if you are going to put on your website that you have multilingual staff, they should be able to understand the basic things, like can I get a taxi, can the shuttle please come and pick me up, etc.

The shuttle to the underground station is a joke. It only runs three times in the morning, I think it was 9am, 10am and 11am and then three times in the evening, 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm. It is at least 45 minutes on the subway to downtown, which means that if you want to catch the shuttle back to the hotel you have to leave by at least 4:30pm to be sure to get there with enough time to call for the shuttle.

I travel alone, and prefer to dine in the evening in my room. I don't know where the mythical room service was. There was no information in the room about it and after trying to communicate with the front desk staff, I didn't bother.

I realized from the website that it was located in the middle of nowhere, but didn't realize how desolate the area surrounding the hotel would be. There is no where to eat or buy food near the hotel.

I also found the front desk staff less than competent. I asked about getting transportation to the airport for my flight which was early in the morning. After struggling to communication this to them, they assured that they would book a taxi in advance for me. When I checked out the next morning, they had not done this, and the person at the front desk was rude to me and told me that I hadn't arranged it in advance. This was definitely untrue, despite the language difficulties, I had watched the front desk person write down my room number and what time I needed the taxi for.

I'm also going to echo the previous reviews, that the hotel is very hard to find. I took a taxi to the hotel twice. The first time, the taxi driver called the hotel for directions, and the second time, we drove around endlessly and found the dead-end road that another reviewer mentioned.

The rooms were nice, bright and clean, with a beautiful view of the gardens.

But, unless you are planning never to leave the hotel, I wouldn't stay here again, or recommend it.

We had no choice of hotel as we were using free flights and had to stay at the hotel designated to us. No complaints about the room and the hotel staff who were all very pleasant and helpful - although I must admit that we had to ring from the Airport as no-one was there to meet us as previously arranged. The courtesy mini bus soon arrived so this was no problem. We had a nice room with balcony overlooking the gardens. Sightseeing in Rome is very tiring and resulted in us coming back to the hotel at night tired out and there was nowhere else to eat nearby. The dinners were a bit basic and not many veggies but the meats were freshly cooked, a bit of a wait to be served but no problem really - enjoyed a carafe or two of wine - good for the diet!!!!. Breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of choices - cereals, cheese, ham, croissants, cake, fruit, etc. etc. good food and plenty of it. After reading a previous review we asked for packed breakfast as we were on the early morning flight - this was presented as we left and was very acceptable. Booked taxi through hotel desk and was charged 20 euros which I thought was very reasonable for 5.00 a.m. start!!! The shuttle service to the metro station in the morning was good and reliable and we made our way back from the centre of Rome on the Metro to Anagnina and then bus 503 - this was easy after the first day - we kept a piece of paper with the hotel name on it to show the bus driver and were always put off at the right place. Get a city plan of Rome from the reception desk - it is very clear and helpful. The WORST thing about our trip was PICKPOCKETS - we got done twice in one day. The metro/buses are crowded and apparently known for this sort of thing - hold on to your bag/rucksack and try and keep it in front of you. There were three people at the Police Station at the same time as us reporting thefts - watch out for groups of young children and do not do as their "minder" tells you - they try to separate one of you from your group - it is all part of their ploy. Enjoy Rome - it is a wonderful city.
