We stayed here just because we were familiar with the chain and we needed a place to stay close to the airport due to our early morning flight. The hotel is about average for the brand. There is a wondeerful restaurant just across the parking lot which I would recommend (over the hotel restaurant). If you are considering this because you want to explore Rome, DON'T! There is nothing around this place except industrial buildings and the airport. If you are not arriving or departing early or late from the ariport, there is no reason to pick this hotel.

My children and I have just returned from our stay at the Holiday Inn in Roma.I am dissapointed in the response/answers that I received fron the hotel staff.
I asked 5x's if they took the Discover card. I called the hotel before my departure to check was told"Yes" we take the card. I checked on arrival and then during the trip in which they ran my card.
btw..I wanted to make other arrangements if they didn't accept the card. The hotel ran my card and I was told I was just missing the pin. I made long distance phone calls to get the pin.At the time of check out after I handed the staff my card and was told they didn't take the card..it wasn't the pin.The manager pulled out (from under the counter) a lsit of credit cards they accept. Then she showed them to me and stuck it back under the counter..so no display..so I had to use my cash on hand whcih was all gone by the time I left the property...This is why I checked so many times.
I was extrememly upset and no aplogy, "I'm sorry" or we made a mistake..The manager was upset with me ??
We are also sent for a short walk to the train station and then the nexy day in day light realized we were in a bad area.(gypsies)
We were charged 80.00 Euros for a cab. It is a long distance from the city of Rome.
Andre at the desk was the nicest part of the stay. He was friendly and accomodationg.
I know many travelers who use Holiday Inn's overseas, but I won't recommend this one.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the price is fine, the breakfast is acceptable but the hotel is just old and suffers all the problems old hotels suffer. My room was smelly, the carpets were in poor condition, the beds were poor quality and the location (across from a dog yard of some sort) is awful in the evening with all the howling dogs.

I would mark up this hotel for:

Transfer options
The "city bus" they offer has poor timing
The "airport bus" is one in the same and runs at odd times
Noise from a pound?
Old rooms
Odd odors in the hotel
Dated interior
Outdated technology and weak internet
Awful hotel bar which is rarely open
Just not near anything...

I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. If you are thinking about this property it is far better to stay at the Airport.

We were not pleased with the Hotel or Service. This was our second time staying there within 4 years and we will not book this hotel on our return trip next summer. The soap dispenser in the bath had hair from a previous occupant...the pool attendant would not assist me with getting more towels when I discovered there were no more available. I had brought my 5 yr old son to the pool and he already jumped in and I had to take him back up to the room dripping with water and shivering from the AC upon entering the hotel. The front desk called for more towels after I produced my shivering child and complainted...Did Not help me but maybe for others. The shuttle bus is too small for summer season. We had to take a cab back to the hotel quite a few times. In fact, the last shuttle back to the hotel on Friday evening evolved into a fight from people pushing to get on to the bus. An elderly man was pushed back down the bus stairs. The restaurant staff and breakfast were ok. Again, l would not recommend this hotel.
