After being picked up an hour late and the driver (pretending to be a wanna be nascar driver) finally getting us to the hotel (or skid row building), our first indication that it might have been one of those "hook em and cook em" moments that you get - when you are lied to when looking at the web site - was a couple walking up the stairs to the street telling us "if you have not checked in yet - DON"T".

Well after looking at the rooms before even checking in - That is my advice also - DON"T!! I wish there was some recourse for misleading web sites that lure people to hotel and then you are stuck.

We loaded up 6 people into 2 cabs and found another hotel.Granted the location is not the same - but we are getting an honest nights stay.

This hotel was situated so well for any new visitor to Rome 5 mins to the Vatican and the tourist bus and so easy to walk to many of the famous attractions
The breakfast was comprehensive and very filling and there were many small eating places nearby that were inexpensive but very good
Cannot tick all the boxes below because I was in Rome specifically to see the sights and that is what we did.
If you go once you will go back again!!!!

Great location near Vatican, clean rooms and staff helpful. Provide free pickup from airport which good perk and breakfast very good to start day.

We had a quad room for 4 adults. plenty of room and large bathroom. Decor a bit dated and probably 2/3 * not 4*. spotlessly clean . staff exeptionally helpful. The complimentary break fast was good with a good selection for all tastes.We got a great deal through expedia can highly recommend. A stones throw from the vatican and walking distance to most sights if you are fit!!The number 81 bus takes you to most of the sights for 1 euro!!! amazing value
.Don't miss the Trevi fountain. the coloseum or the pantheon. highly recommend the hotel but get a room at the back as a rather noisy road at the front.
