We booked this hotel as a "secret hotel" on Lastminute.com. We knew it was rated as a 4 star hotel, but not the specific hotel until we booked it. Once we knew the hotel name, looked it up on tripadvisor, and to our horror found it had some bad reviews. We decided that as we had paid a ridiculous price ( £25 per person per night), we would try one night and if it was as bad as the reviews suggested then we would find somewhere else to stay.

We took a cab from the airport, and was ripped off. Ask the price first ( as of Nov 2009 , 40-50 euros is ok). But was pleasantly surprised when we reached the hotel. The rooms were large, and very clean. Good spacious bathroom with a powerful shower and lots of goodies. The only thing missing in the room was a kettle, tea coffee etc.

The hotel is a little way out of Rome, but runs a shuttle bus for 5 euros return, which was good value.

Rome is very expensive, so it was nice to have a great hotel at a low price, made even better by the fact that airmiles paid for the flights out.

Booked this through lastminute.com and then read some of the reviews on your site which made me very apprehensive. The hotel may struggle to justify 4 stars but it was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Free transfer would have been nice but the service they offered for 5 euros was efficient and took us within walking distance of centre and vatican city. (NB don't go to Rome if you don't want to walk about a lot!)
Similar to some of the other comments on here, we had problems with the toilet flush but this was solved with a short sharp clip to the lever.

Stayed there for 3 nights in Oct 2009. Reasonable facility but never saw a single smile from any member of staff. You got a feeling that they want to get rid of you as soon as possible. Plus they charge 5 euro for 30 min on using wi-fi, what a ripe off

This was a first trip to Rome which was somewhat spoiled by the experience of this hotel.The staff were not interested in single tourists,only coach parties .The room was of poor condition although clean.It was impossible to get a meal or breakfast as we were shunted from one restaurant to another, as each was set up for a particular tour group.The reception staff just did not want to speak to us if they could help it,even though ther were three of them on the desk at any one time.If you are travelling to Rome do not go to this hotel at any price,it is in urgent need of updating,as are some of the staff! Rome is a very beautiful city and deserves better than this!

“DON'T BOTHER”

If you are considering this hotel don't bother. I unfortunatley chose the top secret hotel in last minute.com which turned out to be this horrible place. It is in the middle of nowhere although the hotel does put on a shuttle to Rome at 5€ per person. The staff are rude and unhelpful. This is never 4* (well maybe it was in the 1960's) decor is falling apart and very unclean. Bed sheets were not changed during our stay and towels were stained. There was a breakfast tray in the hallway outside our room which had fly's and lava growing in it. We advised reception that this needed to be cleaned but it was still there the next morning. Breakfast is very expensive. Prostitutes hanging around outside of the hotel car park. Horrible Horrible place
