“Not good”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Although clean, tidy and well presented that is where anything positive to say stops, except perhaps that there is a supermarket right in front of the hotel and a McDonalds nearby....useful for emergency food. The rooms were adequate and beds comfortable.
Transport is provided into Rome and is OK. 20 minutes drive to the drop off point along the Vatican wall.
The location is a little remote with the nearest off site restaurant being a 20 minute walk away so a taxi required to get anywhere. You may want to walk but be prepared walk past prostitutes if it's later into the evening etc. an indication that the area is located in a less salubrious part of town.
The hotel was not geared up for the number of guests with the bar often unattended and the restaurant being very slow.
Only ate there on one occasion food was sent back as it was barely warm, re-heated and sent back out. Not particularly tasty or appetising for the price. The table next to us was served another tables food which became apparent on the second waiter arriving with the next two plates, the waiter then retrieved the first two plates and gave them directly to the correct table.....!! Even though they had been partially eaten. Outrageous....!!
This is a hotel to avoid.

Room Tip: There are some small rooms so it may be pot luck on avoiding these smaller rooms but rooms not right...

The hotel is hard to locate. It is either accessible by bus (246/247 from cornelia metro station) or by cab. According to the hotel website there is free shuttle to metro station however when we requested for shuttle service, we were told that the shuttle service costed €5 for to and fro. The reception staff is unfriendly. We requested for our luggage to be delivered to our room once the room is available in the afternoon, but we later found out that our luggage were left in the receiption office until we returned to the hotel at night. The only good thing is there is a supermarket down the hill which is about 5min walk. There is a shorter route to get to the hotel from the supermarket/bus stop. Just walk pass the supermarket and there is a sign showing the way to the hotel.

Stayed for a 9 Day event, and the Hotel was understaffed, the hotel was well aware that there would be over 300 guests arriving and they could not cope with the influx of people. The rooms were not cleaned properly bed sheets were not changed and we had to request fresh towels. To make things worse after 6 days they started blocking key cards in order for people to pay city taxes, everyone was aware that city taxes were due it would have been more appropriate to have left a note once rooms were cleaned and they would have avoided the rush of people at the front counter of screaming and shouting customers. I will never stay at this hotel again.

(Note: the Sarcasm in the title)

My family and I stayed here for a 9 day event and yes i can understand it must have been overwhelming for the hotel to have 90% of their rooms occupied at once but they were well aware of the situation before our arrival. Ok so we accepted their rudeness and poor customer service but after 3 days it was getting beyond a joke. if you have a hotel with 500+ rooms you should have the power and staff to cater for that many guests!!!

Many of us had to renew our room keys 2-3 times a day, some days we were locked out without warning, the rooms were not cleaned properly, bed sheets were not changed once during the 9 days, there was no kettle or coffee maker in the room, even towels weren't given on request. We asked for a pepper shaker during dinner and were literally ignored. A friend of mine ordered room service tea and it arrived 90 mins late, the manager refused to offer a refund or to order a fresh cup.

On the last day several of us booked taxi's to take us to the airport, we asked every 10 minutes if it was on its way, the answer we got was 'yes its coming'. 30 minutes later he actually calls them.

On the positive side: nice bright rooms, lovely balcony, lovely dining area. The general appearance of the hotel is fantastic, pity about customer service.

Level 4 are new rooms. Shower powerful. Not air vent in bathroom so can get steamy and water on floor takes time to go. Aircon turns on automatically after using bathroom which can get annoying. Double room has sofa bed which is fine. Nice pillows bed balcony. Staff ok business style hotel. Taxi to Vatican is 20euros. So not close. Pool nice but very deep. No jacuzzi sauna etc. 4th floor has new rooms. Breakfast good. For 70 euros a night it's worth it however it's 20 mins from central Rome Vatican area. L9bby bar restaurant nice and clean. Good value for price. Travelling only issue.

A good hotel to relax at after a high paced tour. Away from the craziness of the city and vendors and souvenir stands.
Large salt water pool to relax in was an added benefit in this retreat before departure.
Nice rooms most with balconies you can sit out on.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights after travelling across Italy for 2 weeks. It was by far the worst hotel we stayed in mainly due to the horrible customer service throughout the hotel. The hotel its self was nice. But the staff at the front desk treated us all rudely and was argumentative. We had to leave before the restaurant opened on our last day and they manager said they reserved box breakfast's for us the night before. When we checked out, there were no box breakfast's waiting. We were told there would be complimentary coffee near the front desk to have as well since the restaurant would not be open in time. However the coffee machine did not work any of the days we were there.
We also had to get new key cards every day because the old ones expired after 24 hours, along with the wifi codes. Every time we came back from a day trip we found our rooms locked and we would have to go back down to the desk to activate new room cards which was not a huge deal but still a daily hassle.
We were ignored, then treated poorly at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast by the staff. They kicked us out of 2 of the 3 dining areas until they finally understood what we were trying to tell them. They thought we were with a tour group still, which we were not. We asked for someone who spoke better English and the response was "I speak English fine". Then we stood there waiting for the staff to clear a table for us for 5 minutes. THEN we sat at our table waiting for a server for 15 minutes just to take our drink orders. Our meals were smaller with less amounts than those of other ethnicities near us that ordered the same thing. They brought us soup which we did not order and said so, but they argued and told us it was ours so we started eating it. They took it back a minute later saying it wasn't ours, then re-served it to another table.
We left for a day trip from 8am-9pm and came back to find our room hadn't been cleaned or changed. We left a sign on the door knob saying "please clean room" but they still never even went in. The maid apologized but did not have an answer for why it was not cleaned.
The walls were paper thin and the staff did not do anything about the loud people playing music or yelling until 2am every night. We had to sleep with ear plugs in every night. The bathroom was fine but the shower door let water leak all over the floor no matter how careful we were. The floor was soaked after every shower.
There were 5 of us and we were all disgusted and fed up with the way we were treated at the NH Midas. Not sure if it was because we were Americans or if they operate that way all the time. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, ever.

Room Tip: Bring ear plugs and don't be American.
