“THEY STOLE OUR MONEY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

It was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. First and foremost , we found our money stolen, jewellery stolen, suitcases opened, and clothes scattered everywhere. This happened 2 times and the hotel claimed that had nothing to do with that(while we knew that maids and generally staff were the only people who were able to access to the rooms). Of course we didnt get any refund back , and not only that but they said that we couldnt prove it !Secondly , rooms were more than bad. Some rooms had broken lamps, broken beds, and a range of malfunctions that asked to be fixed, and got ignored.I have to highlight the fact that most of the rooms were completely ignored as for the sanity.Unchanged toilet papers, sheets and towels made us anxious for our health . Finally ,breakfast can be described with only one word:failure. Croissants were disgusting and juice was awful.

-Im so disappointed with this hotel, even though i expected it to be A LOT BETTER. I STONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO ENJOY HIS TRIP.GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CHOICE.

“My wife and I stayed at the NH Midas with a tour group at the end of a hectic 10-day tour of Italy. The NH Midas was a welcome respite after our final day on the tour. Sure, location of the hotel is not very close to all of Rome’s innumerable sites, but if you want a hotel that’s close to the attractions, it’s up to you to reserve one. You can’t blame the hotel if you don’t like its location. Getting a cab to the center of Rome for dinner and site-seeing was not a problem.

The hotel was clean, the rooms were large and comfortable with a balcony, and the staff was pleasant and attentive; everything worked perfectly – perfect for recuperating at the end of a tour.

Miss Diane, I think I've lost my hat. It is a medium priced hotel, food is 'rural -service is rustic' although a bit of a drive from the city centre, a real eye opener. On one trip the cab driver literally clipped every car, what do you when this happens, we'll obviously the best thing to do is to stop in the outside lane of the dual carriageway and argue with the other driver whilst your fee paying passengers scream in the backseat. Well at least it gave us some family time huddled in the back ..... !!!!!,

On the surface it looks modern and nice but then the problems started and never stopped. The shower overflowed because drain was clogged. They knew this but still rented out room. They sucked up the water but still did not clear the drain. I asked for another room after the front desk guy asked me rudely what I wanted him to do. They offered a room on the 7th floor which was like stepping into a horror movie. The place was outdated and smelled bad. It was too scary so we stayed in the first room and took very quick showers. The TV did not work, the a/c does not cool past 20 C, wifi was spotty. The breakfast buffet was horrible there were dirty spoons mixed in the clean ones, coffee was bad, food looked like yesterday's leftovers. Other people in our Globus tour had leaks in their room, clogged toilet, etc. The list goes on. Only positive being it was only one night at the end of our tour.

I had a nice stay here. Nice time in Rome too. The hotel is close to the city center and the food is just delicious. I could really enjoy it, came back relaxed and I wish to come return one day. Definitely the place to stay if you are visiting the city.

Pros:
Modern, very nicely decorated hotel.
Rooms are spacious and clean, except for the balcony which didn't see a mop for a long time.

Cons:
- Service was awful - The receptionists are rude, unfriendly and useless. For example: when we called to complaine about the AC, which didn't work - they hung-up on us; When we asked for instruction how to get to Trastvere - they mislead us; The waitress in the breakfast dinning area ridiculed us in italian (she didn't know that we understand her!!)

- Location: very far from city center!!!
In order to get from the hotel to the city center by public transportation you need to go by feet for about 800 mt in a dark dirt-road and then through a road with no sidewalk. afterwards, you need to take a bus (which leaves every 30 min) to the Cornelia metro station and then (!!!) you need to take the metro to the city center (about 9 stops, 20 minutes ride). Another option is to use the hotel's shuttel service.

Shuttle service: terrible and unreliable!
The shuttle leaves every 1 hour and 45 minutes and takes you to the Vatican, which is 2-4 metro stops to the main attractions. It's capacity is very low - only 8 persons, so many times it was full and guests had to wait till next one.
Also, numerous times the shuttle left few minutes before scheduled and we had to wait for the next one.
Moreover, the hotel sold tickets without telling us that the shuttle had already left.

Breakfast - very basic.

Facilities: AC didn't work for 3 days in spite of our recurrent complaints (3 times a day!).
When they finally managed to fix it, the hotel didn't turn it on because, as they claimed, it was cool outside. Thus - it was HOT inside the room and we were sweating!!!

VERY poor value for money. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Hotel has clean comfortable modern rooms.  AC did not work great until it cooled down outside.  Great breakfast buffet included in price.  I would not recommend eating dinner there. Although it was far from the city they offered a shuttle, for €5, to the Vatican that took about 15min. Booked this on from the Travelocity unpublished rate, and did not get to see name and location until I booked it but for $67 a night it was a good value.
