My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for the first part of our anniversary trip to Italy. The location is the best part about the hotel. It's an easy walk to the metro and Vatican City. So you can pretty much get to any place in Rome. (Once we figured out the metro.) The rooms themselves were pretty small. The bathroom was a good size. The only ventilation for the shower steam was the window. But since there wasn't an ironing board we used the "steam room" effect to get the wrinkles out of our clothes. The hair dryer in our room was a joke. It was this tube design that had virtually no power. I have long hair so having to spend 45 minutes to dry it was an inconvenience. The breakfast they provided was good-just remember that typical italian breakfasts aren't your standard American fare. There were cold cuts, cheese, bread, cereal, croissants, coffee, etc. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful and spoke English.

Short 5-10 min. walk to Vatican and metro station, particularly good for early morning visit to the Vatican museum, which could be long line from 8am. The room was nice and clean, bathroom was spacious but drainage may blocked during shower. Nice breakfast buffet, including bread, cold meat, egg, cereal, cake, juice, milk, coffee etc. The staff were kind and many nice cafes around.

The only thing I don't like is there was no place to secure the luggage if arriving before check-in time. People just left the luggage in the lobby in front of the reception desk.

This is a lovely hotel within walking distance to the vatican and metro station. The neighbourhood is safe and offers a very unique italian stay. Markets are only 50 metres away as well as a number of fantastic cafes and shops. ideal place to stay if you dont want to be surrounded by tourists and enjoy what rome has to offer.

It's hard to understand how other people could have had a positive experience here. The hotel is in mediocre condition: no place to secure your luggage if you arrive before check-in, staff was extremely unorganized (they didn't even ask for our IDs when we checked in), poor excuse for a "breakfast", maid service ignored the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and came in anyways, and staff wouldn't comply with our request to call for an official Rome taxi to the airport (instead, they would only call a private taxi for us which costed much more). I am not picky when it comes to hotels; basic customer service and a clean room is usually sufficient for a pleasant stay. However, this hotel doesn't seem to understand the concept of customer service. I will never return here and would not recommend for anyone.

My son and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. Hotel room was very small, to include the shower, had issues flushing the toilet, however the room was cleaned every day. The hotel location was pretty much walking distance to almost all of the sites, which was good and there was also bus 81 nearby if you did not feel like walking.

The staff was friendly and we had no complaints up until it was time for us to pack and leave. During the time we were there, we did not want to travel with all of our documents in the event my purse was snatched or something. The safe was not securing well, so we decided to walk with our passports and leave our wallet and one cell phone in the room tightly hidden away in our suitcase in the closet. While packing the night before our departure, we noticed the wallet and phone were missing. We looked everywhere, ransacked the room over and over, search dirty clothing, under the beds, everywhere. Our only conclusion was that the cleaning person took our belongings. We had no proof of this; however we knew exactly where we had put our documents (credit cards, ATM cards, driver’s license, student ID card, and military ID cards etc.) This was frustrating because now we had to cancel all credit cards, debit cards and cell phone. We also had to call long distance on my cell phone because the hotel desk phone would not allow us to dial to the states.
We called the police to file a report and they would not come to the hotel because it was late, so now we had to walk five blocks to the police station to make a report. Thanks to one of the guest who was on business from Barcelona, helped us throughout this ordeal, he even allowed us to drive in his taxi the next day to the airport.
Needless to say, the hotel was not much help and did not even seem to be concerned. We called the Manger who was out at the time and explained what happened, she told us to give them the police report and we will get the money back for our phone and that was all they could do. We are still waiting to see if they will actually give us our money for the phone. Rome was definitely beautiful and we would do it again, but will not stay in this hotel. I know sometimes one cannot control what employees do, however for the hotel not to show any concerned was really disappointing.

Another thing I found interesting was the fact that the front desk clerk knew what we had taken out of the room refrigerator without us even telling him. At the time of check out, the desk clerk told me exactly what I had owed him for from the fridge; I did not even fill out the form with the items. That was a mystery to me.
I
f you want to stay in this hotel, I would think twice because you never know when someone will actually take the time and effort to go into your room, into a closet and into a suitcase to steal your belongings, and to have a manger who shows no concern what so ever. I was more worried about getting robbed in the streets rather than in my own hotel rrom. What a big dissapointment hotel Olympic.
