“Excellent Location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This average hotel in Rome only serves its purpose because of its location. It is about 10 minutes walk to the Vatican and nearby St. Peter's Basilica. The Metro station is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel and buses are available nearby and they come so cheap. The Termini is 5 metro stops from Metro Ottavio. Yes, its that easy and simple to get around on the Metro. If you choose to stay in this Hotel, stop for your dinner at nearby TAVERNA VARRONE - a homely Italian restaurant on Via Varrone right behind the hotel. Your delicious Gelato is all around you to satisfy your taste bud. Have fun - I did.

The lobby is worn, but serves its purpose. That is the only location for wi-fi. Breakfast is very meager, but free. Some students said beds were comfortable and others were not. Mine was not too soft, but good enough to get a good night's rest. The location is great for getting around as it is close to a subway and several bus stops. There is also a taxi stand in the square that is nearby. I wouldn't say this is the best hotel around, but it served its purpose for us. Compared to other hotels I've stayed in throughout Europe, it's not as good. I wish the rooms were a bit more modern and in better shape. With all that said, if you don't mind overlooking some faults, stay here.

This is a decidedly average 2* hotel providing a base level of services in a good location. The rooms are small, tired, hot and in need of redecoration. The small bar (when attended) and the lounge are adequate for short periods but not for business. The breakfast room is adequate with an uninspiring selection of continental options.

There is nothing memorable about this hotel and nothing about it was a complete disaster. Rooms are small, about the norm for Rome but a bit worn. Lobby has a nice sitting room but sofa and chairs are uncomfortable and in need of new upholstery. There is free Wifi, but it only works in the Lobby. There was elevator service but the wait time was too long. Breakfast is ok but the breakfast room is in the basement and not at all attractive. The front desk answered our questions but did not make you feel welcomed. Nice location between Saint Peter's and the Castel Saint Angelo. I would not stay here again.

This place sucks....run!!!!! Nothing is as advertised. I think third world countries have better Internet access. Staff is minimally involved. Best thing about this hotel is location....that's it! Breakfast is horrible. Beds are hard. Loud unruly kids stampeade

Very disappointed. Good location, close to the vatican and the Metro station. The hotel is very old and lacks maintenance, though. Rooms are small and don't look that clean. Poor noise insulation as you can hear all the people passing down the corridor. Breakfast is cheap and falsely advertised: on the website main page it was written something about home made cakes and huge breakfast which is completely untrue. Moreover I found the price quite high, the only thing which was on a 4 star level!
Would never recommend it, I'm sure there are either cheaper solutions for that level of service, or nicer solutions for that level of prices.
Only positive the service at the reception which was always helpful, at every hour of the day or the night.

This is not a four star hotel, i would rate it as Boutique hotel. The good thing is the location, just a couple of blocks from the St Peter*s Square. Its a good walk even to Castle Sant' Angelo, to shops, you can have a lot of shopping all walking distance. Breakfast is the same everyday, but its ok, no free internet access.you pay euro5.00 for half an hour. No fridge in the room but there's an old TV, You can open your window in the morning. or whenever. And the best advice i can give, book for your transport from airport to hotel, there's a website, Rome transportation, its euro45.00per head one way and their car is Mercedes Benz.. If i go there again, i will stay in this hotel .Be careful in crossing the pedestrian road, they are hell drivers over there, they dont stop.

Room Tip: I don't think you can choose a room, they will tell you as you check in.
