Reading some of these reviews surprises me. The room we (3 people) had was lovely. Seemed updated...hardwood floors, very large room for Rome, clean, full breakfast, etc. They arranged our car svc back to the airport (good price relative to other quotes). I would definitely recommend staying here.....perhaps check and see if there are recently renovated rooms vs. not and be sure to request accordingly.

The Hotel is fairly nice with great location next to the Vatican City, bus pick-ups which take you straight into the heart of Rome. Recommend bus #64 (make a left out of hotel, right on the major street, and pick-up right before the tunnel) which takes you right into Plaza Venezia in the heart of Rome – this can be walked in under 30min. The hotel staff spoke good English and was quite helpful. The room itself was decent size for Rome, the air conditioning works well, and CNN International in English on TV. Very good breakfast buffet served in the mornings. Would definitely recommend this hotel, even though it is not the cheapest it is still less expensive than “downtown” Rome, and due to proximity of buses to get to touristy locations.

We booked this hotel as a secret hotel through lastminute. We arrived at 11.30 pm and the room we were shown into was a smoking room, was in terrible condition with damp on the walls and rotting carpet and it stunkkk of smoke. We had stated we were no smokers in our booking but obviously no one had taken notice. We were with a porter and asked him to be moved as we didnt smoke. He was very rude, grunted at us, phoned the lobby and then showed us to another room on another floor. This room was tiny, clearly a single room as it had only one side table and the other side of the bed was against a wall and just left us without waiting for a reply. we went down to reception and after a half hour discussion were given the keys to a twin room. The hotel is shabby condition, the staff are very rude, as soon as it hits 10.30 they take your plate away from you in the breakfast room without asking. this happened to me twice. also the reception staff are rude and unpleasant and that put a downer on our trip as we couldnt relax. also the hotel is too far from the centre of town (20 mins by bus) and about 15 mins walking to the nearest metro so only stay here is if you are mainly visting the Vatican only.
Also this hotel is used by huge tor groups so dont stay here if you are a couple or family as you cant relax, the atmosphere is awful, and the service rude and attrocious.

Chose this hotel for its location, good next to Vatican. First room was dirty and tiny. Got moved to a lower floor where rooms had been redone. Lots of traffic in this hotel. Some staff nice, some not so. Lost our cameras here, so our memories are somewhat soured by the staff's lack of assistance.

This hotel was dirty, dingy, and disgusting. We requested a King bed because this was our anniversary trip, and we got 2 twin beds, that were not set up next to each other. The walls had dirt and handprints on them, and the bathroom was rusted and dirty. To make matters worse, the staff was not helpful-we asked them to call our airline to confirm our flight to NY, and they told us to do it ourselves from the room, and then tried to charge us for the phone call. Last time I checked that is the job of the concierge. And when we asked them to send 2 wine glasses upstairs to use, they said we would have to pay a room service fee. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE.
