I was satisfied with this hotel in all respects. It's not 5 star, but in doesn't claims to be. The room was fairly large for European/Rome standards. The bathroom had a full size tub with shower. We had a great view of the Vatican and a balcony. The only thing I thought the room was lacking was a safe. I thought the location was great. It's obviously a short walk to the Vatican, but all of the other sites are a fairly easy walk as well. The coliseum is probably the furthest site, but it's probably no more than a 30 minute walk. The only time we took a taxi was to and from the train station.

Stayed at this hotel in beginning of April. The hotel is right around the corner from the Vatican and St Peters. It looks like its right across the street from the photos but you must walk around to get to both places. The metro is not close but about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. We were given a standard room upon arrival. The room was a bit drabby. The carpet looked dirty and the walls and curtains were dirty. Definitely not like the photos you see on the website. The bathroom was extra clean. We later found out why it was extra clean. The shower didnt have a lip around it so when you showered all the water ran out and flooded the bathroom. We had to build a "levy" from towels to keep the water from running all over the place. This was very annoying. The walls were very thin as well. We could hear the neighbors as if they were in the same room with us. We werent in the room much so it wasnt that much of a big deal. Breakfast was good. Ham and eggs, fruits, breads, yogurt, cereal, juices.
We didnt think highly of the hotel until we returned a couple of days later after staying at other starhotels in Venice and Florence.
On our return we were upgraded (without asking) to an executive room. The experience was totally different. The executive room was very nice. Separate living room. Bathroom had a nice tub. Didnt have to worry about the water running all over the place. The key to getting an executive room is by requesting a king bed. Otherwise you'll get stuck with a standard room with 2 beds. So the standard rooms are 1-2 stars and the executive rooms are 4 stars at this hotel.

Clean rooms, decent sized. Met our expectations based on all the reviews posted here. It's not very convenient to other sites, but very convenient to Vatican City.

The hotel was fine, room clean. Breakfast was quite large. Included in the price. Restaurant waiters really friendly. the main big advantage is proximity to the Vatican and in general the disposition. Right across the river you could find a lot of very nice restaurants (Antica Romana was great!)

What we didn't like was that some services like fax or internet were for payment, whereas in other hotels we'd been before they were gratis. Cleaning ladies a little too annoying, if you stay for vacations you do not expext to be woken up by a tel call and asked if you want your room to be cleaned or not....the staff was not helpfull...

What i would recomend to the hotel is to be more customer-orientated....
