“Perfect balance for a city break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Previous reviews say it all really. We knew the hotel was 30 minutes (+) drive to/from the City so we knew to expect that journey time out of our day. The hotel was perfect, well presented and so peaceful, with beautiful surroundings; we can quite see why the hotel is popular for weddings!. The food was good and we had some interesting and tasty anti-pasti dishes that we'll try now at home! All the staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left, allowing for us, at a small charge, to keep our room all day due to a late flight home, which finished our trip off perfectly and allowed us to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the hotel on our last day. Fabio is worth a special mention for getting us to and from Rome 3 days running and making driving in Rome look so easy!! I would highly recommend the hotel, particularly for couples.

This hotel was booked by my friend via Travel Republic and we spend 3 nights here (2 couples). The place is so romantic I can not even describe how amazing it looks. We booked it with breakfast. There are 2 restaurants one on the top of the hill (the more expensive) and the second when you walk down the hill all the way to the little shop and restaurant (cheaper one) with more choice on menu but equally amazing food. They provide taxi from and to airport (75 Euro there and 75 Euro back). Also run shuttle taxi to and from Rome for 10 Euro per person (inc return). The only downside I would mention is the fact that the term on time does not exist there so if you book taxi do not expect them to be on time :-) other than that I can not fault the place.

This hotel is about half an hour from the airport and same time to city. Hotel provide transfers from the airport and back each way for 75 euros.Shuttle transfer from the hotel to city center £10 return .The hotel area is very romantic great for couples and they do the weddings too.Hotel restaurant is very nice with great food. Not much choices and little bit more pricey .We been having dinners down the road in local pizzeria and we found more to choose from menu and very good prices.Staff is very friendly and helpfull , speeking english well.Place is very tidy ,huge gardens with fountains with historic details.I can highly recommended this hotel.

Just returned from a fantastic break in this lovely hotel, the rooms were warm, clean and full of character, the staff couldn't be more helpful, quite a way from the centre of Rome but they provide a very good service taking you into Rome at 9am and returning at 7pm all for only 10euros return!. I hope to have the opportunity to return again.

Found this hotel on Travel Republic and what a bargain it was! The taxi fare from/to the airport was more expensive than the whole trip (flights & hotel). We only went for 2 nights to visit Rome and spend some time in this delightful looking hotel.
The service and food was good and the hosts were lovely. It is run by a friendly family who were very helpful. A little road next to the hotel but still in their grounds will take you to a lovely place to eat and to dance. It is perfectly safe but the first time we went the hotel organised a car to run us down the dark road (they are putting lights up soon). the hotel runs a shuttle into room (9.30 am - 8pm) and this was 5 euros each. It was great! It is a fantastic wedding venue, like a castle really with different bits and pieces to it. Tunnels with torches etc. Very different. Perfect for couples. Not a place for children though.

Room Tip: All rooms appeared to be really warm and comfortable. It is in the countryside so any room is lovely...

The grounds are beautiful and spacious. It's actually out in the country so it's very quiet and peaceful and there's not many houses nearby. It's really nice to spend the whole day there and just relax on one their reclining chairs, reading or sunbathing. The drawback to that is where do you eat? There's one restaurant on the premises...but they're kind of pricey with a limited menu.
The rooms are decorated in dark wood with dark wood rafters on the ceiling which gives the room a dark feeling. Other than that the rooms are nice. As another poster said.. wi fi is iffy.
I'm very happy I stayed here as opposed to staying right in the hustle and bustle of Rome. This turned out to be very convenient since they have a shuttle that takes you back and forth for a nominal fee of 5 euros each way and it's only a 20-25 minute drive.
It does seem like their main source of revenue is Wedding parties and that is their main focus. There where 2 very lavish weddings on the day we arrived, which actually made our stay more interesting. It was a cultural experience and we where able to watch from the sidelines while having a drink in the restaurant. Very entertaining.
The staff was wonderful and accommodating and the front desk girl happily and quickly changed our room for us even though she was very busy.

Room Tip: The higher rooms are a little smaller, but more window space so they're brighter.

The Relais Castrum Boccea meets the 4 star standard and, at my rate, was a good value.. This is a new garden-style hotel reconstructed from a very old villa, though little of the historic structure is visible. It was sold as an airport hotel, but it is not.

The front desk was efficient and euro-friendly (not as friendly as the US). After being quickly checked in, we were led to the room which was on the third floor of the building across from the office. The room was larger than average, modern, and mostly consumed by a king size, comfortable bed. It had a large flat screen TV with limited English channels. The bathroom was very nice, with bidet, two shower heads, and very good bottled amenities. Outside sported a deck with a small table and a swinging chair over looking a private park with fountain.

Although my short stay did not allow me to explore extensively, the grounds are beautiful with statues, fine landscaping, and interesting architecture. This is the type of property that would be used for a destination wedding in the US. There is nothing around the hotel except farms, so the restaurant, expensive but good, is the only easy option. A good continental breakfast is included in the rate with fine, made-to-order coffee/ cappuccino/ espresso.

The downsides include free wireless internet with limited signal that, even after being given two passwords, I was never be able use it, and the room walls are old-hotel thin so you can hear your neighbors.

As mentioned, this is not a convenient hotel to the airport or Rome and is really only accessible by car. You will have to really trust your GPS to get you there. It took about 25 minutes to get to the airport (FCO) in the morning; my GPS took me there on small back roads. Some of our neighbors said there was a shuttle to Rome, which, at $10 a gallon for gasoline and impossible parking in the city, might be a good option.

You will get a nice hotel room, in a beautiful setting, for a good rate--that is in the middle of nowhere. I liked it.
