O.K. First of all I am reading some of the negative comments that some people are leaving on this hotel. It seems that these people were expecting to stay at the Plaza Hotel.
I guess the hotel I stayed in must not be the same that they are describing. I really liked this hotel; It was very clean and updated. The towels were extra large and plush. It had a jacuzzi tub. The beds were a little hard but still comfortable. The hotel have shudders on the window its suppose to make the room extra dark for siesta its what the Italians do after 12:00 they nap; I hate to be sarcastic but it seem some people go to other counties expecting for it to be exactly like it is in there home. If you expect that then just stay home.
These shudders could be lifted to let in light in the room. The breakfast is included in the price of the hotel. It was a good basic breakfast it offered a good variety.
If you want to be close to the Trevi fountain and Colosseum I suggest to stay at another hotel; it is quite far. You could take a cab or the metro which is only about a 10 min walk.

Located in a great area if you want to be away from all the touristy area and really see how Rome is in a regular neighborhood. The breakfast is a free buffet with coffee/tea etc, juices, yogurts, cereals, fruits, eggs, meats, lots of cornettos and other pastries, cheeses, etc. For a free buffet; pretty good value. Staff is professional. The internet was not working, but it did not matter to me because it was way to expensive, about 24 Euros for 1 day, you can get a voucher from the hotel for a cheaper rate, but it is not that much cheaper. The subway is about 10 minutes walk. The area is totally safe during the day and at night. Safe and clean like most hotels in Europe. My favorite thing: it is located about 2 blocks from a local market, cannot beat that! I bought this hotel from Hotwire, and it was sold as a 3.5 stars. The hotel is not what in the US would be a 3.5 hotel, but in European rating I think it fits.

We had a comfortable stay for 6 nights. The room is sufficient clean, enough space for 2 pax. The breakfast is bare minimum as compare to Asian hotels. Only the scrambled eggs and bacon are warm. The rest of the items like hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, breads, ham etc are all served cold. No fresh fruits except canned ones like peaches, mixed fruits. The coffee machine served decent coffee, hot chocolate etc. 1 machine for the whole breakfast room. The wireless internet is expensive at 5 euros an hour and we need to purchase it at the front office before utilising it in the room. We end up at an internet joint although not many in Rome city.

The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk to "Cirpo" subway. It is safe to walk in the night after 9pm as it is located in a decent and quiet residential area. There are not many restaurants in the area except WOK Restaurant across from the hotel which served Japanese and Chinese food. Coming from Singapore, the food is decent in taste as compare to other Asian restaurants in other European cities. The price for a plate of fried rice with chicken slices is below 4 euros. The gelatore across the main street from the hotel is superb. We had it every day. The smallest cup is only 2 euros and could choose up to 2 flavours. There is a decent well stocked supermarket (also called supermercato) along the way about 3 minutes walk from the subway facing the fountain/children playground (tuck in a corner).

Vatican is within walking distance about 15 minutes. Convenient to move around to major sites.

As a whole, we would stay in this hotel again given the location and price we paid for.

The staff were extermely helpful and friendly, the rooms were beautiful, cool and comfortable. The location is right by the Vatican(easily walkable) and close to the metro for everything else.
Breakfast was fantastic, a great selection, and the surrounding area is nice. Air con works quietly if not slightly confusingly.
Fantastic stay here, definitly recommended, although not very much to look at from the outside.
