We booked this hotel via Expedia and it seemed to be quite a reasonable price for Rome. We were quite hopeful that it would be a decent hotel in a good location, however we were sadly mistaken. I cannot begin to fathom how this hotel earned a 4* rating, it is definitely more like a European 2*. The hotel is certainly not a five minute walk to/from Cipro metro station, and I consider myself a very fast walker, it is at least fifteen minutes down a very long road. Regarding location again the hotel is about ten minutes from the VATICAN MUSEUM, but a good twenty five minutes from the actual Vatican (St Peter's Square). There are no shops about to buy drinks/snacks from and the hotel is miles away from the other central attractions, but this isn't really a problem if you use the metro.

Our room was on the second floor and upon arrival we immediately noticed how dark the room was, there was hardly any natural light at all seemed to be obscured by horrid hurricane like shutters that could not be moved up or down. The room was very hot, AC not working and we had a lovely view of a basketball court. Beds are like sleeping on a concrete slab with matching slab pillows; I have never in my life slept on such uncomfortable beds. Other than that room size not too bad, had a nice LCD TV but with no English channels at all, BEWARE internet is thirty five cents per minute.

The staff were very unhelpful, on three separate occasions did we request extra pillows, we were pointed in the wrong direction twice to the nearest shop and there porter who carried the bags seemed to be loitering outside our room whenever we left/came back to the hotel. We were also made to wait to be seen whilst the receptionist spoke on the phone several times, breakfast as mentioned by previous guests was not something to write home about. We arrived everyday at 8:15am and the eggs/bacon looked to have been there all night, dirty culterly, juice so watered down I couldn't even tell what flavour it was and bread so hard it could have been used as a weapon. All this luxury was provided in what could have passed for a tomb it was so dark, I have no idea why they didn't open the curtains; my only though is that doing so would mean they'd have to clean the windows, which obviously is something that hasn't been done since the late 1990s.

Overall this hotel was a major disappointment, the location was horrid, the actual hotel was depressing, dark, dirty and very very outdated. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Only recommendation I can make is the Chinese/Japanese restaurant 'Wok' facing the hotel it really is lovely and very cheap too.

I do not understand the bad reviews!!?? I have stayed through out Italy France Switerzland South Pacific and the U.S.A.and found this hotel to be fine. My room was clean the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.
The Vatican was close and there were good restaurants on Via Andrea Adora and other close locations. The indoor Farmers Market was great and almost at your door step. The Metro was not that far away and from there you could easily get to other sections of Rome. You can also do some walking!! I stayed 6 days and the front desk people were always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to friends and hope to stay there again.

We didn't find it as bad as some of the other reviews. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Cipro Metro (the people who said it was a 15 minute walk must have been very slow walkers). Our room was clean and perfectly fine - I wouldn't say it was 4* - more like 3*. Breakfast was a bit of a disapointment but I think that was probably because we arrived just before it finished at 10am - it was a lot better on the 2nd day when we arrived earlier, If you want a clean, functional, perfectly fine hotel whilst paying less than you would for a hotel right at the bottom of the Spanish Steps, then the Novadomus is for you.

We booked this hotel through expedia, 2 adults 2 children. The metro is not 5 mins away but a good 15 min walk and with suitcases and bags was awfull. On arrival we were given a map of Rome and shown to our room. The hotel is dark, dirty and in much need of an renovation. Our room had the shutters down so no natural sunlight. The beds were like sleeping on concrete and the air con did not work. Which considering it was over 70 degrees was a nightmere. The staff were not pariculary helpfull. The breakfast was vile. Dirty tables, food left in a stainless steel food warmer for what looked like hours. Very little choice of food. The local attractions are only reachable via metro, unless you are prepared to walk for miles and miles or be ripped off in a taxi. The Vatacin is a good 25 min walk to the main entrance, the Vatican museum is approx 10 min walk away. I would never stay in this hotel again, its shabby, dirty and in a poor location, in the middle of a residental area. We had a view of a football court and blocks of flats. I would never recommend this hotel and it should not be classed as 4 star but 2 star would be better suited. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in Europe.

I booked this hotel via a pre-paid web site and admit the price was good compared to most hotels in Rome. But, it was a big mistake, one I won't soon make again. I was quite disappointed that it was billed as a 4-star hotel on the site. I don't think I would give it more than 2 stars personally. The room was dark, very outdated and dirty. The shower curtain was stained and there were scuff marks all over the tub. The carpet was filthy and shabby. The bed spread was old and outdated. The TV looked to be from the 80s.

This hotel is badly in need of a renovation and amenity facelift. The breakfast was ok. The staff didn't change the stained tableclothes between uses. The only highpoint from my point of view was the location. It was very close to the Vatican and a short walk to the Metro. However, I would not stay there again.
