It was extemely dirty and the staff at the front desk was very prejudice against american citizens. I was yelled at because my suitcase hit the stairs and made a loud noise. I explained to the man at the front desk that the elavator was not working and I had to take the stairs with my two suitcases and he made many hand gestures at me. I did notice how nice he was to French and Italian citizens. The walls and floors in the Resturant had dirt and red sauce all over them. Staying at this hotel ruined my trip to Rome. I will never go to Italy again.

When I called the front desk, they yelled at me, changed american dollars to euro they wouldn't look up at you did the transaction without a word. After dinner the tour group were standing in the lobby talking and saying their goodbyes they told us to shut up. day we left the elevator was not working; had to use the stairs and the suitcase hit the stairs and made a noise; they yelled at us for that. No respect to Americans. Restaurant was filthy; spaghetti sauce all over the walls where we would sitting .
Filthy rooms - dirt over all walls. Location very poor; no restaurants or shops to go to.
Very dangerous to walk around.

It is a ten minutes walk from the Cipro Metro Station to the hotel. We booked a triple room and got two twin beds and two twin sofa beds (a quad room?). It was a very good size room for the three of us. We have two TVs and a big bathroom. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate as compared to the US budget hotels (waffle makers and scrambled eggs). The hotel was full of Globus tour guests so watch out when the tour guests are having their breakfast so you can avoid the crowd. The front desk called a cab for us early in the morning (3:30 am). Overall, we are very happy with this hotel.

Having read the reviews before our trip,we were confident that we would have a wonderful long week-end in a sunny Rome at its spring-time best. The Nova Domus is dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment and a good spring-clean.The look was not helped by heavy drapes and dusty dried flower arrangements, combined with marked walls, chipped furniture and overall a look that doesn't seem as though it's been touched since the 70's.The warm rooms were not helped by air-conditioning that pushed out hot air so that you have to sleep with the windows open and endure night long traffic noise. The breakfast,in an uninspiring dining room, would be adequate were it not for the inedible attempts at a hot selection of bacon and eggs. The location is handy for the Vatican but a good Metro ride from anything else you may wish to see.All this would be almost excusable were it not for the disinterested staff, cold -just this side of rude.Rome-we'll be back but not to this hotel !

I have been to Rome over a dozen times on business, and stay at a hotel near the Pantheon that charges three times the Novo Domus rate, with almost no difference in room size or quality.
For this vacation trip, my wife and I selected the Novo Domus, and would do it again.
I would echo what everyone else has said, with a few additions.
Breakfast is more than adequate.
Not gourmet, but if you are used to European offerings at this price level, above average.
If you make a left out of the hotel and head to the Vatican Museum entrance, there is an indoor farmer's market about five blocks away which we used for fruits/vegetables and cheese for our light afternoon meal. This was a pleasant surprise that I had not seen mentioned on this site, and we really enjoyed it.
A real Roman flavor.
With the exception of using the train/metro/walk from the airport to the hotel on arrival and departure, we did all of our touring on foot.
We greatly enjoyed it.
The location is perfect for the Vatican, but unless you are willing to walk, which we greatly enjoy, the other attractions are a hike.
Our normal day was breakfast at the hotel, morning walk to the attractions, farmer's market for fruit/bread /cheese eaten at the hotel, then afternoon walk to next goal, dinner in Trastevere, and back to the hotel.
Very happy with our hotel decision.
Very nice staff.
