“tragic!”

Everything was broken. Everything. Bed, door, bathroom, sofa. everything was broken. Except that, on our reservation we asked for a DOUBLE bed, and they tried to do a double bed with 2 single beds.
next to the hotel, there is a school, or a basket court, they were shouting from early morning. the blinds were also broken, and with a bit of wind, they where very noisy. we couldn't sleep. rooms were very cold. reception was nothing special.
for this kind of hotel, i think our reservation was more money than it should be..

“bad hotel,”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

A vacation which should have been great beacame bad. All because hotel Cicerone.
When i arived at Cicerone the receptionist acounced me that they exactly our floor is flooded. further more they told us that there are no other rooms avalible. We were sent to another hotel where we were told that we have better and even more expensive rooms.
The hotel is called Nuova Domus, after 1 hour lost, we came to find out that the rooms were small , bad conditions, very small breakfast, very far from the centre.
WE WERE CHARGED WITH THE SAME PRICE AS CICERONE ALTHOUGH THE ROOMS WERE CHEAPER.
We consider , we were discriminated due to the fact that we are ROMANIANS , and we are convinced to tell the world our story to everybody even make it public, so future client of hotel cicerone will think twice.
I feel disappointed in the hotel and even in your agency because we were not anounced

uncomfortable beds, everything broken, no air conditioning, very expensive expected more. Find something else and save your money. Breakfast was the only good thing about this place.

“Exhausting Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

Location: It's an exhausting experience to find this Hotel, since you need to walk around 10-15 minutes from the Metro station. Accessible by Taxi and buses. Hard walking distance to Vatican city.
Service: english-speaking staffs, great breakfast, spacious room, great heating system during winter, Free WI-FI.

“Excellent exploring base.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

A friend and I booked this hotel as part of a cheap package deal so we could go exploring in Rome. While I have to agree that the hotel is not 4 star everything else about it was excellent. The rooms are small but well appointed and very comfortable. Ours had a terrace outside aswell. The staff were always kind, friendly and very helpful despite the language barrier. You cannot get a better location for the Vatican and a mainline Metro station is five minutes away which can have you at the colosseum in around 30 minutes. Our room came with the buffet breakfast which was very good and set us up really well for a days exploring. All in all I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to go to Rome on a budget.

“Not a 4 Star hotel!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

Staying at the Quality Nova Domus was certainly the most disappointing part of our trip to Rome. We arrived at the prearranged time and had to wait in the lobby for two hours for our room. Several things in the hotel were not working properly and when we asked were given the response, “It isn’t working today,” including our television (although this was fixed after two complaints), credit card machine, internet, and telephone. The room was tiny, but fairly clean. The bed was extremely firm. The bathroom had the smell of urine emanating from the drain in the floor. The shower had hot water and good pressure, but wasn’t much to look at. There was no air-conditioning so we had to sleep with the window open, which was difficult due to noise in the street. There was also some kind of construction in the hotel beginning at around 8 each morning.

Location close to the Vatican and metro, breakfast, and our television being replaced with one that worked were the redeeming factors. It also had a mini-fridge.

“Fantastic location, terrible organisation and non functional electricals”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

Check in was over an hr delayed (3pm) and kept getting postponed. Showers didn't have enough pressure, rooms were tiny/cramped, electrical sockets did not work, neither did the aircon (in addition to really bad ventillation) - this was terrible during warmer nights, charging phones/laptops was a challenge.

The cleaning staff/breakfast staff are excellent. Front desk could've adopted MUCH better attitudes, they actually put us on the edge and looked displeased to have hotel guests.

One solid bright spot was the location, there's everything around - cafetarias, pizzerias, The Vatican, multiple metros, a Chinese resto!

Would never go back here.
