Just back from a four night stay at the Park Dei Massim and we would recommend highly. Above all the things that strike you about the hotel is how it in the midst of a noisy and chaotically overcrowded (although stunningly beautiful city) the hotel manages to exude an air of peace, quiet and calm. The hotel is situated approx 1.5 miles from the nearest metro (Cipro) so in that regard fairly central yet it seems otherwise in terms of its tranquil ambience. We were given a comfortable room on the 2nd floor which was spacious and easily adequate for our stay. The hotel has a leafy and well kept garden and our balcony overlooked this so early evenings in could be enjoyed simply relaxing in the beautiful balmy late summer Rome weather. The hotel operates a free shuttle at 3 intervals in the morning and again once in the evening, if you have some energy left at the end of a days sightseeing!? you can walk back to the hotel from Cipro Metro in about 20-25 mins. Once you've established your way its actually not too bad to try although there is a gradual incline all the way from the metro station back to the hotel. Otherwise if you wish to stay in town later in the evening you probably need to taxi from Metro (app 15euros) or bus. Our stay wasn t long enough to get round to trying the latter. Back to the hotel the standard of service and cleanliness couldnt really be faulted and we were welcomed well by reception who orientated us with useful information and maps. Breakfast was fresh, varied and plentiful and we tried the restaurant on one occasion again being satisfied with food and service. In summary the Park Dei Massimi served us very well and provided a comfortable, welcoming refuge at the end of each day of doing the sights!
