Poor price/quality relation. Poor quality for a 4 star hotel. In the last day, i suposedly left a pair of sun glasses near the entrance. The staff at the reception said they saw the sun glasses. They did nothing to keap them safe, allowing them to be stealed. I was even under the impression they were connected to the theft, as they did no effort to help me finding them, and only told they saw them after beeing asked for the second time.

the worst part of my trip to rome, that otherwise went really well. Very nice city, worth visiting!

Dear GTSA,
we are very sorry for your sun glasses but please don't say we are connected with theft, because we really don't need !
This is only a very bad performance of the reception man and we are very sorry for it !
We have found who is that day, Andrew , he also said to us he lied because he feeled ashamed !! Sorry but he were very new in the hotel!
Really this is not an alibi, we had to immediately search your sunglasses, but we are afraid there wasn't anything to do, someone (but not the staff of the hotel, because we are sure of our staff and never happened something like that!) had stolen your glasses.
However we would be very happy if you could accept a present to forget this very bad experience at Park Hotel dei Massimi, please
contact us !

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at Park Hotel Dei Massimi. I brought a local map downloaded from the Internet to help the taxidriver to find the Hotel. He sure did needed it.
It really is a good hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Nice, clean room and a helpful staff. Average breakfast. The room had a balcony, a big plus.
And, yes, as other rewiewers we felt that the distance to the main attractions in Rome was too long. We don't mind walk a few miles, but we do prefer to do that in the city centre. There is a bus stop not to far away, but for us it took to long to find out about it. So the Hotel shuttle bus was an option. We used it every day.
I guess we could stay at this hotel again, that due to the low price. But perhaps a more central hotel will be better, simply to have more access to the outdoor life in the evenings and nigh time.

My husband and I have just returned after a three night stay and, on the whole, were happy with the hotel. The room we had was very clean and nicely decorated with a beautiful spotless bathroom.
The main downside was the location. It was hard to find a decent place to eat within walking distance at night and taxi drivers had to use sat-nav all the time to locate the hotel.Tip....always carry the address and postcode or taxi drivers dont have a clue.
The shuttle bus in the morning is handy but I feel that a service throughout the day would be a bonus - the last one left the hotel at 10.10 which was fine until the day we were checking out and wanted to stay in room later. Also an English speaking TV channel would be appreciated.
We only had breakfast in the hotel and this was OK - not startling but adequate....as previous reports stated the waiter Gennaro was a delight....his sunny smile brightened up the place.
This was my third visit to Rome and I would recommend staying at a more central hotel.

We stayed 9 nights at the Park Hotel Dei Massimi and were very satisfied with the accomodations. Rooms are not very big but size of hotel rooms come at a large premium in Rome. The rooms, including bathroom, were very well cleaned everyday by the staff. The concierge service at front was EXTREMELY helpful in directions, taxi services, tour planning, etc. Simona, Daniella and Stefano are the best! This hotel is about a 10 minute taxi ride to St. Peters - sounds long but we actually preferred the quiet surroundings of this middleclass neighborhood as opposed to the loud, hustle and bustle in and around the heart of Vatican City (which is a lot more expensive also). The complimentary breakfast is outstanding! Bacon, eggs, croissants, danish, cereals, fruits, prosciutto, cheeses, fruit juice machines, cappucino/espresso - as much as you can eat (This was well worth the stay since food is not cheap in and around the tourist areas like Vatican City). Ask for Gennaro, the breakfast coordinator, and he will take care of you in saving some delicious cream filled "coronettos" (croissants). The bus line, #990, picks up at the end of the block to go to Vatican City (yes, you have to purchase bus tickets at a local tobacco/food shop). You will have to walk maybe 10 to 15 minutes to some of the vicinity restaurants. The hotel restaurant is very good food but the dinners are a bit on the expensive side. I recommend "Capperi" less than a mile away and only 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. Outstanding menu and food is exceptional. Indoor/Outdoor under big umbrellas with reasonable prices (again, this is not the tourist area). They do have employees that speak English (and have a English menu LOL). In all honesty, probably we spent a little bit more on taxis but the price on the hotel was very reasonable via online sites and the atmosphere and staff were great.

  • Liked — Continental breakfast was the best!
  • Disliked — Not a lot of restaurants in the close proximity

We enjoyed our stay at Park Hotel and found the service excellent, the room was very comfortable and very nice to relax. The breakfast was excellent and the waiters and staff very friendly and helpful specially Gennaro who not only made the guest feel at home but also his tips on places of interest in Rome and nothing was too much trouble. When visiting Rome again, we will book this Hotel and will be recommending it to our friends who want to visit Rome.
