“Roman Home Cookin'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

We were recommended to go to this off the beaten path restaurant by our Roads to Italy Tour guide. After doing a bit of searching, we found this hidden treasure!! We walked in for lunch and it was like walking into a time warp. I felt like it was Sunday lunch/dinner with my family. The Mother, Father, Daughter and another relative were sitting playing a Roman card game. My wife and I sat and the owner, Roberto took the menus away from us with a promise of a Roman eating experience and off we went on a eating journey that I will not forget anytime soon. He showed us a picture of Bill Clinton and him from the Clinton's trip to Italy. I felt like he was family!! We were served a bottle of house red with our Antipasto, then onto a pasta - two different kinds btw, the secondi was a variety of veal dishes, stuffed sauteed artichokes and then ended with desert and cappacino...It was a 2 hour eating frenzy!! After getting the check (which was a number written on a piece of paper - it was not cheap but worth every penny based on what we ate and drank...60 euro with grats). We then got a walking tour of Roberto's wine cellar which was a catacomb filled with a variety of wines. This treasure was worth the search!!

“Best restaurant we visited in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

We enjoyed 4 nights in Rome and this restaurant was easily the best that we visited. Quality of food was excellent and house wine represented good value for money. We did not have a reservation and they had a large party in, but they still welcomed us.

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012 via mobile

We had a very descent meal over here. The spaghetti aglia olio was fantastic, the steak was good and the dessert was very good.

Prices are fair for this area. No unasked bread on the table.

Service was ok although it was a bit strange that the two waiters where very busy while the manager was standing in the door doing nothing.

“Best restaurant visited in two week trip.”

This little out of the way family restaurant is what your looking for if you want to avoid the tourist traps. Incredible food, service and just a warm, home feeling. When in Rome, we will defiantly go back.

“Interesting and folksy with good but average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2012 via mobile

We went to this restaurant with a large group and we had limited choices in our menu for the dinner. The service was very good and the meal was very nice but not memorable. All of the pastas and main plates (mine was lamb) were prepared well and served nicely but not anything special. House red wine was good to very good.
