“Worth the trip outside the walls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

One of the newer churches in Rome, but breathtakingly beautiful and rich with history. Also historical resting place of St. Paul.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

A breathtakingly enormous basilica containing the chains that bound the Apostle Paul when he was a Roman prisoner. We were awestruck by the majesty and spirituality of this church.

“Worth to get out a little beyond the "Walls of Rome"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

This fascinating basilica is one of the four Rome's papal basilicas and it was built in the 4th century. The basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is also a Holy See property. It is situated very close to the San Paolo metro station. The interior is fascinating (just look at the celling) and the facade is also great.

Absolutely magnificent nave. Probably enjoyed it all the more as I didn't have expectations. Easy to get to on the metro.
