The Hotel Lancelot is very clean and the staff speaks English very will. The staff is very helpful and they happily give any information about Rome that you may require. They are pleasant and enjoyable people to be around.
The breakfast is very good with a good selection. They offer a 3 course supper with 2 types of wine for 25 euros. (This is a good value) The lancelot is walking distance to the Forum and colosseum. Other sights and museums are easily reached from here too.

This was our second stay at the Lancelot. Again, we were very pleased.
A few rooms have terraces, but cost 20E more. There's a community terrace on the 6th floor, and if you ask for a room on the 6th floor, it's just down the hall. Breakfast was good, staff is excellent. Room very nice, but bathrooms are small. We like the location as the Lancelot is located in more of an apartment residential area - about 3 blocks from the colleseum. The restaurants cater more to a local crowd and are very reasonably priced.

A five minute walk to the coliseum and most of the sights are in walking distance too. We were vry lucky to find this hotel. although the our reception was a bit perplexing. Inspite of the hotel not being too busy - we were given a tiny run down room which had wall paint coming off; the furniture was old. After a request for a bigger room from a different receptionist - she very helpfully changed ours to one which was better furnished as well as had a balcony. A great relief since we were traveling with a small child.
There is an old world charm about the place. Majority of the guests seemed to be older travelers. The complimentary breakfast did not offer a good variety. And bathrooms are so tiny that you can barely fit in. When we tried to put the shutters down for the night, they were jammed and could not be used.

But the location made up for all the shortcoming. Since we hardly spent much time in the hotel, its proximity to all that is wonderful about the city is definitely a big plus in its favour.

We wanted to stay near the Coliseum and this was the perfect location. It was also quiet and convenient to metro. The staff was friendly and the room was great with a nice patio. There are many sitting areas in the lobby and free wi-fi. They have staff at the front desk 24 hrs and they'll arrange for a cab if you're catching an early morning flight. When in Rome, this is a great place to stay.

This hotel has the best of what every traveller needs.

Fantastic knowlegable staff. They really make sure you have eveyrthing you need or want. They help with bus schedules, metro, tickets to the Vatican Mueseum, all of it.

Good dinner each night though we only ate once (I wanted to get out and find local restaurants, etc). At dinner and breakfast you pick your own seat from round tables and its a fantastic way to meet other travellers. While there we met people who lived 50 miles from us in the States, a couple from the UK, another couple from Australia, and a few Germans.

Absolutly relaxing stay. We had a beautiful terrace that we came back to each night with a few bottles of wine and enjoyed the view off the balcony and the perfect weather.

Couldn't rave more about this hotel. I WILL be back! :)
