We stayed at the Hotel Lancelot for four days in October, 2004. We had read very positive recommendations from other travelers. This is a good, basic tourist hotel in Rome. Our room (55) was very large with a small balcony, but while adequate, it was not very nicely appointed. The bath room was nicely appointed, even though it was tiny (it did have a tub/shower combo).
The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood near the Coliseum which we found very convenient for our needs.
We had read many positive comments about the communal dinners for which the Hotel Lancelot is (apparently) famous. We participated in this event one night during our stay, and we were not impressed. We found the quality of the food mediocre. There are better dining choices (and worse ones, too!) in the immediate neighborhood. The breakfast was good.
This hotel probably is a good value for the money. Next time in Rome, I probably will opt to spend more for something a little nicer.
