Great location near the Colloseum and metro. Staff was very nice and the breakfast is good.

We chose the Hotel Lancelot in Rome after reading the strong recommendations on Trip Advisor. Our first impression was that the lobby was welcoming - cozy, yet comfortable. Unfortunately, our first interaction with the front-desk clerk did not meet our expectations - after checking in, we asked him for restaurant recommendations, and he said he had none because most restaurants (in Rome) closed in August. He also then tried to push the hotel-group dinner on us, which we declined. I later asked other hotel clerks, and they enthusiastically pointed me to two restaurants in the area (Le Naumache was right around the corner and excellent)! I really don't want to let one hotel clerk dampen our review entirely, but it was disappointing after reading such compliments about the staff on Trip Advisor.

With regards to our room - it was a bit 'Spartan' but the airconditioning ran very well (which won my husband over), and the room was cleaned very well every day. I also was satisfied with the breakfast spread - meats, cereals, fruit, etc. The location is good - right by the Colosseum and the Metro stop.

I could not speak more highly of this hotel. It is very economical, near all the attractions and the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from the Colluseem and there are loads of great restaurants nearby (Luzzis is the best) plus cash machines.

We travelled to Rome in April 2007 with our 1 and half year old son. We spent 6 nights at the hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful from the time we made our reservations till we chekced out. They were very prompt in getting back to me on any queries I had before we got to Rome.

We also took the Limo service that the hotel arranged for us. The hotel staff went the extra way to accomodate the needs of a toddler. We were able to buy some milk and save it on the refrigerator in the kithcen. They would warm if for us even at 9 PM in the night.

The breakfast was good and filling. Very convinient location- near touristy locations, restaurants and bus stop.
