I can't remember experiencing such a glorious visit to a Bed/Breakfast Hotel or any hotel for that matter. My husband and I along with two friends spent a week in Rome. Our days were spent touring, sightseeing and shopping. Our mornings started with a sunny and delightful breakfast...Each day we returned somewhat exhausted, relaxed for an hour retreating to our room, had cocktails in the cozy and inviting bar (much like a club room) and proceeded to dinner at 7:30 where we dined family style with guest from everywhere (mostly English speaking). We all enjoyed a sumptous five-course dinner with wine and then proceeded to take up residence in a fresh flower bedecked, elegant and beautifully appointed parlor.We would sit there night after night having great conversations with other guest as if we were in the living room of my home or theirs. Remarkably,we never bothered to have dinner anywhere else.The hotel has been family operated for many yearsbut when I say family, all of the employees servedmultiple task and were equally as welcoming as its delilghtful owner. I can't say enough good things, however, I fear that the next time we wish to return to the Lancelot, we won't be able to obtain a room as they seem to operate fully occupancy. The one thing that stands out most in my mind is that most of the guest were there because of referrals or as returning guest.
That says a lot.

Our family enjoyed the hospitality of the Hotel Lancelot during spring break. Our stay in Rome was divided by a trip to Florence. We stayed at the Lancelot before and after, and the hotel graciously held our extra luggage while we were away. We satyed part of the time in a room for 4, which was pleasant, clean and spacious with a view from the balcony of the Colosseum, and, on clear days, St. Peter's dome. For 3 nights we were in a suite with a terrace, which was even nicer. The staff was always helpful, accommodating and gracious. We also really loved the location, close to the Colosseum and Forum and convenient to Metro and bus lines. All in all, we were extremely pleased with our stay at the Lancelot.

My wife and I stayed at the Lancelot for three nights on our recent trip to Rome. This was our first trip abroad, so staying at a welcoming hotel with no hassles was very important to us. We arrived early in the morning well before the appropriate check-in time, but the hotel allowed us to check-in and go straight to our room. The room was just fine, no complaints. We were able to meet friendly people from the UK and Australia at the roundtables. We loved the location close to the Colisseum. It was a great feeling after a full day of exploring the city to board a bus such as the 117 and as soon as the Colisseum came into view we knew that we were almost "home". Overall, the Lancelot is a great place to stay, especially for English-speaking travelers.

My mother and I stayed at the Lancelot for five nights in September 2003. Faris and Lubna Kahn (the owners) were helpful with tours and museum tickets. The rooms were clean, bright and comfortable. We had a room with a pretty terrance for two nights. The breakfast is good. We never tried the nightly dinners but they were very popular and we met lots of return guests. I would stay here again.
