“Great location - large rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We stayed here for several nights on our honeymoon and I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and all spoke great English, for those who need it.

The rooms were a great size (even by American standards) and had a nice bathroom. Free wifi that worked well, good breakfast buffet, convenient location and walking distance to the Coliseum, good restaurants and shops. It's a couple streets off the main roads so it wasn't terribly loud (which can be hard to find in Rome). The hotel also has a laundry service (for a fee). Would definitely recommend.

Celebrated New Year at the Lancelot with friends. It seems to have become a great tradition for us all to meet up there to see the new year in, so much so that 2 friends from Switzerland who had thought they would not be able to make it got a last minute flight on New Year's eve and sprung a surprise on us.
The room was excellent, comfortable bed and choice of pillows, central heating, tv and telephone plus shower room, small balcony overlooking the courtyard, Great choice at breakfast buffet ranging from smoked salmon to home made jams and marmalades, something for every taste. The 4 course evening dinner was another delight for the palette with as much wine as you wanted included in the deal. New Year's celebration party was an additional small supplement but welll worth it for the food, wines, entertainment, dancer and party disco after midnight and the New Year's firework display. As always the Khan family gave a very warm welcome and were the perfect hosts. the staff are very friendly and obliging with information on the attractions of the city, help with booking taxis and excursions. Many thanks to them all for a wonderful start to 2013.

The Hotel Lancelot is located on a quiet street in a neighbourhood with lots of little bars and restaurants, just a 10 minute walk from the Coloseo metro stop, buses and trams and the Colosseum itself. Staff are very pleasant and helpful with directions and local restaurant recommendations. The rooms are comfortable; moderate in size (no surprise given we are in the middle of Rome), basically furnished and a bit tired/shopworn. Chief complaint would be related to housekeepng: we we there over the Christmas period and found attention to room cleaning and detail to be just average. Breakfast is served in a nice dining area with lots of choices. We had Christmas dinner in the hotel and were treated to a very nice, multi course dinner.

This was the final stop on an extremely awesome European trip with my mom and Stepfather and was recommended to us by our travel agent. She was not wrong....after a harrowing taxi ride from the train station to the hotel, we were surprised by the comfort that the lobby initially brought us. We were checked in quickly and efficiently and were actually able to get into our room right away!

The room was an okay size but for the 3 of us seemed to be very small. There was, as we found in all of the hotels we stayed in on this trip, very minimal storage for all of our stuff. I had to leave my suitcase, at the foot of my twin size bed (which my feet hung off of) on a luggage stand. The decor was quite soothing as it was a pale blue color and was comfortable regardless! We did have a cool balcony where we were able to sit and drink our wine at the end of each day. Our view was of the street but if you looked to the left, you could see the Colloseum!

The hotel bar had a small patio/courtyard attached to it, where we could go and sit with a snack and our drinks to relax before we went on to our next adventure. It was a really nice, quiet area that we very much enjoyed utilizing.

The breakfast room was really nice and allowed us to sit with other guests both mornings. There was a good variety of food that enabled us to go for the first part of the day with out having to eat lunch. They also served a pre set dinner in the same room, nightly, which was all really good and included wine and dessert. Again, we got to sit with other guests and ended up sitting with the same women from Illinois and the 3 women from Australia!

The location of the Lancelot was really great....we were about a 3 block walk to the Colloseum, which I highly recommend to anyone going to Rome should see and maybe an extra block to get the on/off bus.

There are several little local restaurants very close by that allowed us to get in the last of our authentic Italian food before coming home.

The desk staff was incredibly helpful and simply added to our overall impression of the hotel! We would stay there again and I would recommend it to anyone going to Rome!

My husband and I stayed at the Lancelot for 4 nights in Oct. My daughter had stayed there in 2006 and thought it was great. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They gave us tips an the area such as restaurants. The hotel is only about 3 blocks from the Colloseum. The hop on off bus stops down the street from it. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is set off the street so the room was quiet. we couldn't be happier with our stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Lancelot for four nights in October 2012, after finishing a Mediterranean cruise and a week of additional travel in Venice, Florence and Tuscany. I can't begin to describe the warm feelings and great memories we have of the Lancelot. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and it was very obvious that the staff really wanted to make sure their guests were happy. Our room was a sixth floor double with a terrace and a view of the Colosseum. The room was huge by European standards, and was very clean. Breakfast and dinner at the round tables was something we looked forward to each day, and our fellow travelers made for excellent company. This dining arrangement is truly inspired and was consistently enjoyable. And the food was wonderful.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome. It was absolutely excellent value for money, with a great location in addition to everything else.

Room Tip: The public terrace (for all guests) is on the sixth floor so if you are a non-smoker and your room i...

My mom and I went on our first trip to Italy this past September, and I booked this place because if the reviews here on Trip Advisor. Y'all didn't steer us wrong! This place was awesome. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the room was super cute, location was perfect, and the breakfast was delicious. I can't imagine finding great hotels before the internet existed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Rome.
