We are a family with 2 children 9 and 15. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Nerva. Their hospitality was very much appreciated. The breakfast was superb and the coffee exceptional. Breakfast consists of sugar coated croissants, cheese and meat, toast, bread, different cakes each day, fruit and delicious coffee. But try not to be late for breakfast. The loft room was very big which was not expected and we loved the view from the window of the street out front. You could see the forum in the distance. There was also a small window in the loft which looked out over the courtyard. The elevator is small but big enough for 2 people with luggage. We used the stairs to go to our room on the second floor the rest of the week. The room could hold 5 people. There were 2 single beds up in the loft and one small bed next to the queen bed in the main room. The bathroom was quite large with a tub and shower combined, sink, toilet and bidet. The street out front is narrow so be careful when you step out the door because they drive pretty fast and erratic in Rome. We heard no noise while sleeping and loved to open the glass doors and shutters in the morning for a breath of fresh air. There was an ashtray in the room but there was no odor in the room at all. The Wi-Fi worked in the breakfast area and on the first floor only. We were told only 4 computers could be on at the same time but we never had a problem the few times we needed it. There are plenty of places to eat 2 blocks away an ATM and souvenir shops too. The hotel made 2 dinner reservations for us and the rest of the week we ate at a corner outdoor restaurant which had great food or around Rome. Don’t forget to eat Gelato which is Italy’s ice cream but buy it from an indoor store not a street cart because I was told it tastes much better. We had no problems with pick pockets or homeless bothering us. Just always be aware of your surroundings. We walked to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi fountain, Forum and coliseum. Took a tour of the Vatican set up by the Hotel and it was a great tour. We took the Metro to Galleria Borghese and park. And don’t forget to set up an appointment to see the gallery if you are going. They only give you a 2 hour window to see the gallery. We also walked back from Castel Sant’ Angelo which was quite a distance but the streets were quite interesting. We took a horse and carriage ride from the Spanish steps to the coliseum one evening. They were also kind to us which made our stay in Rome that much better. The sites in Rome were incredible and we can not wait to go back again and stay in this breathtaking country. We would recommend Hotel Nerva and would stay there again. Our coins were tossed into the Trevi fountain!
