I stayed at this hotel with my husband for 1 week in March 2009. We arrived very early on a sunday and were brought straight to an available room with no wait. The room was a perfect size for us, and the sound proof walls made it feel as if we were the only ones on the floor the whole week. The breakfast was perfect for our needs, and as we were usually the first ones to arrive we never had to wait for a seat. We filled up on breakfast and usually had a very light lunch in the afternoon. Staff was always courteous and provided us with everything we needed during our stay. If we stayed out late, they would leave mints on our pillows and a note of the weather forecast for the next day.
The location of the hotel was wonderful, down via viminale are at least 7 restaurants that serve high quality dinner, a gelateria, a supermarket, and a coffee bar that served fresh pizza and pasta at all hours (even on a sunday). Before our trip we utilized google maps and could view street view pictures of the location and easily navigated the area upon arrival.
Local attractions less than a few blocks away include the roman opera house (wonderful experience), national museum of rome (palazzo massimo), and the baths of diocletian. We never used a taxi or the subway during our entire trip, and utlized a hop-on hop off bus to get a tour on our way to St. Peters Square. Overall it was a wonderful week and I would stay at Hotel Britannia again.
