Stayed Her with my partner in March, This hotel is located a short walk from the main train station which is handy for accessing the airport and even closer to the metro to get to some of the main sites in the city. Dont bother with a taxi from the station unless you have big heavy bags, we "walked" from the train station using google's street view before we left so had no problems finding the place

The Good:
The rooms were nice & clean if a bit small, the staff were friendly except for one surly member of the breakfast staff, each level of this hotel has free wireless broadband which is fantastic. The breakfast is a plentiful so long as you get up early, most of its gone by 0915. The location too is great

The Bad:
The surely waiter and the extremely small room, the ensuite was nearly half the size of the room

The Ugly:
There was no air the the room, it was really stuffy, herself spelt about 4 hours all weekend with the heat, and this was mid march. We sent the air con to the lowest coolest setting and came back to a sauna. The only downsize to this hotel really

We recently returned from yet another trip to Rome this time staying at the Hotel Britannia. It is located a short walk from Termini and Via Nazionale. It is centrally located for the person that wants to use the busses, trains or walk. The people are wonderful . As you are checking in they bring you fresh juice and cookies. In each room there is a fishbowl on the desk that make you feel like you are in a home not a hotel. They also turn down your bed at night and leasve not only chocolate but a card with the weather for the next day .There is also fresh fruit on every floor for your taking. It is the little extra touch that makes this hotel a gem We had an early departure and would not be there for breakfast and they graciously told us to take some items with us for the trip. I highly recommend this hotel.

I first heard about this hotel through Rick Steves' Italy guide book and it was right on the mark in terms of being extra welcoming to English speaking guests. Mario Teti, the receptionist, was incredibly helpful and caring... something you won't always find in Roma. Another thing you rarely find in Roma is large rooms... but this hotel has great size rooms. I loved it! I felt like I was staying with friends. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. Absolutely, without a doubt. Thanx again Hotel Britannia.

Hotel britannia was quite good, the room was small but adequate for our needs, as we were out most of the day sightseeing. Dissappointed to say the least after reading the reviews on trip advisor, I found the reception staff to be quite aloof and not at all interested in our needs, at no point were we asked if we needed any advise on tours, places to visit, resteraunts etc. In actual fact the most we got out of them was an answer to our "good Morning or Good Evening". Breakfast was excellent, a really good choice of everything, the room was kept clean and the chambermaid was most friendly, in actual fact more friendly than the reception staff. I would suggest you do not use anything from the mini bar in the room, it costs an absolute fortune, go to the local supermarket at the end of via napoli and buy your beers and wine there. Maybe we would stay at this hotel again (the breakfast swung it for us). But I think a little more thought in advising guests who are on a city sightseeing tour of places to see and eat would help enormously.
