“convenient, comfortable, affordable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We brought our 5 month old along to this trip in Rome. So we needed a place that is baby friendly, close to public transport and affordable. The apartment is on the first floor, no elevator but no problem with your luggage as Giuseppe is always happy to help. We stayed in the red room, it looks exactly as you see in the pictures above. It is clean, neat, comfortable and spacious enough for us. The en suite bathroom is very nice as well. It is clean and everything works well. The apartment has a common kitchen for everyone to use, with all the white goods.
The apartment is about 5 mins walk to the nearest bus stop (satrico) and you can take the 628 bus to all the touristic places such as pantheon or colloseum, or the 300 (i think) bus to rome termini station, or san giovanni metro station. We never had to wait ages for the buses and there's a newstand at the end of the street to buy your tickets so transportation was easy.

It was an enjoyable and relaxing trip for us and Giuseppe was friendly and was really helpful from the start till end.

The room, the apartment the building and the area was lovely. Felt like we live there.
Giuseppe is very nice, very helpful specially when we had big issue going on, Giuseppe helped us and took care of us, which for sure we wouldn't get the same treatment at a hotel.
We were in the Pompeian room, lovely and warm decoration. Very clean. Very large bed. The apartment area is quiet and the neighborhood felt safe and nice.
The location is good, its not nearby the centre of Rome, but its only one bus or metro away from it. Tip: bus no. 628 goes to all the touristic places and very comfortable to use it.
The breakfast was served at a cafe very close to the apartment and there is also close kiosk where you can buy bus tickets. There are few good restaurants near by, as well as local market, with fruits, veg., great cheeses, fresh pasta, fishes and more. Also very good pizza at the central junction.
One thing about the distance: with the public transportation its very convenient to get to and from there but the public trans. in Rome is not something to relay on. In our week there, there was strike in the metro, and the buses number was limited, other time the metro train had a problem during our ride, and we had to squeeze in small buses.
I will highly recommend everyone to stay at alice's b&b, specially if you want to know how it feels to live in Rome, and less being the average tourist.
Have fun!

My parents and I stayed at this B&B for a few days and we really enjoyed it. It is in a residential neighborhood and on a quiet street. It is about a half hour walk to the colisseum and close to bus stops and metro stations. Giuseppe was extremely helpful. It had air conditioning which was great since it was really hot in Rome while we there. It also had free WiFi which was a big plus since most hotels in Italy charged 3 Euros per hour. Our rooms were all together in one apartment. I had the twin room while my parents had the double room. Each room had their own bathroom and I had both hot and cold water. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all my family and friends.

This B&B run by Giuseppe is in a more residential area of Rome, though not far at all from the center of the city, so you feel like you are living like a real Roman. There were lots of fantastic cafes at which to eat nearby and a wonderful market just down the street. We walked everywhere and we were a group ranging from 7 years old to 76 years old. The center of town was maybe a 15 to 20 minute walk, and a very pleasant walk at that. Giuseppe is incredibly helpful, honest, and kind, as was his wife Carol. His English is excellent and he was a valuable source of knowledge. This is a flat which is very typical of Rome where you enter downstairs, walk up one flight of stairs, have a locked entry door to a hallway from which 3 lockable rooms and a kitchen come off of. One room sleeps 4 persons with 2 double beds, one room sleeps 2 persons with a double bed, and one room sleeps 3 persons with a double and a single bed. The rooms are brightly decorated and fairly newly renovated. The bathrooms are particularly modern. The kitchen is bright with a lovely view of the courtyard in back. The double room has a lovely view of the courtyard as well, whereas the other two rooms look out onto the street (a fairly quiet street-- never heard noise at night) which was also a fun view. There are only a couple of reasons I would give this accommodation very good vs. excellent: 1. I never really had a very hot shower. 2. I was a bit chilly at times (Rome is strict with their energy conservation, so this is encountered at most anywhere one stays). 3. There were a few things that needed fixing, but nothing major, and most of them Giuseppe got to right away. Bottom line: I would HIGHLY recommend this affordable and pleasant accommodation, especially with groups of 8 or 9, as it fits that a group that size perfectly, and it feels as though you have your own apartment in Rome. If you have 10 persons, there is a room he rents, but it is one floor up from this flat. But if it's just 2 or 3 or 4 of you, then that's fine, too-- the space is certainly sharable with others. NOTE: There is no laundry facility within the flat, but Giuseppe will do it for you (not too cheap, but not too pricey).

This charming B&B located just outside of downtown is a great place to stay. As Rome is a city to walk, this slightly out of the city centre place is a great choice. Close to great restaurants and transit. Guiseppe is a wonderful host who goes out of his way to make your stay is pleasant - from recommending restaurants to helping arrange our tour guide. If you are looking for a quite roman appartment this is the one for you.

From the minute Guiseppe opens the door you feel welcome. We thought not staing in Trastevere was a mistake, but actually it as the right choice. We were away from the tourists, in an authentic neighbourhood surrounded by parks, cafes and restaurants. He gives great advice, and his English is superb which is very helpful.

We stayed in the red room. Large, quiet and clean, with a good sized bathroom.

The best meal we had was in this neighbourhood, far surpassed the food the fling at tourists in Trastevere.

A short and scenic walk to the main attractions in Rome, or you can easily catch a bus or metro.

Would stay again.
